+ Good cooks are in short supply and high demand throughout all the crews of Clan Windfall and indeed the world, a fact Tern knows and turns to his advantage at every opportunity. And he is a good cook, too; through craft or magic (or perhaps a little of both) the talented imperial can make even hard tack into something approaching edible, and so you can well imagine what wonders he can create given fresh provisions. Like his brother, he sings as he works, his true clear voice pleasant to the ear and inherited from his mother.


Notes: A tern is a kind of seabird found throughout all the oceans of the world. Hard tack, or ship's biscuits, are hard, unpalatable mixtures of salt, flour and water which keep for a very long time and are usually the last rations to be turned to on very long voyages.
