Biography

The Chosen • Guard • Arenji |
LORE ____They prepared, they moved at once, all in sync as they prepared to call upon Arenji. It was dark, the bright contrasting colors of their bodies and wings made them stand out. Lexa was in the lead, as she always was, as she had been since they ran away from her. It was okay, they were content with that. ____They would call upon Arenji, and that would bless them. Lexa moved swiftly, warpaint decorating her face as she prepared. Gwin and Wastewalker watched her carefully, making sure nothing interrupted their ceremony. Glae and Sulor worked swiftly to finish the last things they needed. ____The ceremony began, summoning Arenji. Silence reigned over the four dragons, nerves twisting in their stomach and almost causing them to shake in fear. Only Lexa had done this before, what would happen to the rest of them? Would they be blessed and accepted? ____Then, just as quickly as Lexa started chanting, she stopped. All of the dragons stopped breathing as the color from their very bodies drained out of them, leaving them as dark as the night around them. It should have been painful, but it wasn’t, in fact to the four dragons, it felt natural. ____But then green began to glow, wrapping around their paws and claws, going up their arms and across their bodies, even across their faces. Lexa watched them all carefully, her purple eyes shifting constantly between the four of them. ____When the magic left them, the blessings all dissipating, but not leaving them completely. Though Arenji was gone, his blessings remain, their black color staining their skin and the runes still pulsing with power. ____Together, the four of them glanced at each other, taking in the changes. Lexa stood proudly behind them, glad the blessings had been taken. The power thrummed through them, filling them with energy. ____"You have been chosen.” ____Lexa looked over the new chosen of Arenji, breathing deeply. They would make great additions to the clan, she was sure of it.

Betrayal
"How did we end up like this? Why does it have to come to this? We tried- No, I tried to change it. I did my best, I fought for it, I fought for you, and we just end up like… Like what, enemies? Do you at least remember me? Do you remember us? Us, with the clan, with everyone you know, everyone you met during all these so said precious years? Do you remember us, together? What we went through, what we sacrificed, what we achieved, does it ring a bell? Why, how did it end up this way? How, tell me, Seia," the young dragon, exhausted, confused, angered, eyes half-closed, half-opened, still alive but so tired, shouts at the top of his lungs, spitting at her face the little oxygen he inhales. "Tell me !" He tries to flap his wings but she only pushes down hard stopping his movements.
She looks past him, glares at the ground, she watched as blood ran down his dark face, she is disgusted about what she had done. Though at the same time it was for her cause, what she was raised to do. She was stronger than him by far but only because of her true queen. THe thought of her made Seia shiver.
'Why! Why did he have to be here to see!'
She doesn't move, doesn't try to get away, being the one dominating the fight, claws clasped around his neck like on a frail prey, legs pinning down with his own trembling ones. She suffers silently from the burn marks all over her thighs, red around her ankles, wings suffering from slight tears in them, bloody knees, opened shin bone, cut calf. She lets her shallow and irregular breath warm his cheeks, lets her tears cover his own. Every tear, salty and transparent droplet of organic water, feels like a newly forged blade burning through his every pore, engraving the sorrow they both feel deeply in his flesh.
She grits her teeth, her words stuck, resonating in her throat, playing over and over in her mind, but not coming out of her mouth the way she would like them to, monster-like groans, low and distorted noises escaping through her parted jowls instead, and he sobs loudly, lifting his head to hers for a brief moment. Zangetsu, still under her grip, grunts as his head falls heavily on the ground. Blood drowns his left eyes, and he can just hope that his iris still shows his anger.
"Don't cry. I won't pity you."
"I don't want your pity !"
"Then what do you want ?" He yells, apparent pain showing on his face, blinding his vision for a moment. "What are you crying for ?"
"I don't know!!! I just don't!" The shadows around them danced upon her anger and confusion.
His rage resonates, again and again, doomed echoes of a newfound hatred, and Seia winces under his harsh words. He glares at her, piercing, analyzing, trying to understand the meanings of her her actions, of the bad choices she made. But he can only see genuine regret, and he hates himself for forgiving her even a little. His ragged breath hits his teeth, he can feel his pulse beat inside his upper jaw, shaking his canines. He grits his jaw firmly, biting down the pain playing in his body, in his head. He heaves, feeling fire form at the tip of his cut hands.
"I just want you to understand-"
"There's nothing to understand, Seia ! You betrayed us !"
"And I did it for a reason! If I wouldn't have followed orders you would have-"
His head jerks up, eyes darting everywhere at the sudden movement, too fast for him. They dart and look, blurry images invading him. They fall on the dirty walls, on the dusty ground, on her bloody forehead, bloodshot eyes. Her beautiful dark wings, glowing runes, sad golden eyes. He looses his anger, disappointment taking over him. His head falls back again, it hurts less, desperation covering the damage. Sadness makes his voice quiver, and it's a contrast too big, too visible, compared to his usual strong, sure and monotonous voice, voice long forgotten now.
"I never wanted any of this!!! I never asked to be what I am!" She screamed at him her runes flaring and her grip tightening slightly.
"I do not care! All those pretty words, those lovely compliments, those strong promises, did you forget them, too? You swore to become one of the best warriors that ever existed, but you just ended up as a filthy criminal, one of the worst dragons here, now. A spy! You lied to everyone, you lied to me. We lost so many nights together," he says frailly, those late nights being an important weakness of his mind.
"I don't regret them," she whispers back.
"And I don't either. But they hurt, now. You betrayed me. Not only as a warrior but also as a lover. You lied."
"I didn't lie about my feelings toward you," she assures, voice as weak as his, fingers losing their grip on his neck. He takes better, bigger breaths.
"But you threw them away," he breathes heavily, hardly taking enough oxygen." You gave up on them like you gave up on your family, your clan family," his voice sounds monotonous again, and it's the last straw, she moves slowly off of him and lays her forehead on his. He doesn't push her away, doesn't move. She flexes her wings out blocking out the little light the moon brings, and her runes glow even brighter. He had always loved her runes against her dark obsidian body and now they mock him for his naive mind. She steps away and starts to disappear in the shadows, it flaming around her like fire. He gets up and watches her sad eyes watch him.
"I'm sorry, Zangetsu ..."
