Xelloss is a trickster by nature, and loves to play mind games not only with his enemies, but also with his allies. Most of his clan mates quite frequently wonder where his true loyalties lie, as at times it appears he is helping them, and at other times he seems to be hindering them. He also likes to randomly disappear, and will only show himself when things seem most dire to finally give a helping hand. The clan leader, Isolde, however, accepts his help regardless because, in the end, it usually does get them just what they were looking for... even if they did have to jump through hoops to get to the ending they desired.

Why, one time, Xelloss helpled an enemy into getting Xelloss' allies trapped in a maze, and helped the enemy by purposefully setting off some of the traps just to watch his allies run around like chickens with their heads cut off! He got a kick out of it, but his group members were not amused when they noticed he was somehow avoiding most of traps (as if he knew what traps there were and their locations) and laughing at them dodging this way and that. He managed to get out of a more severe punishment upon completion of the groups' mission, however, because they had to acknowledge that Xelloss also had helped them with the worst of the traps so there were no major injuries sustained and he was the one who knocked out the enemy at the end.

He also has a huge ego and thinks he is the best of the best; this is probably not too far from the truth though as he is very powerful and one time defeated an entire clan of dragons by himself. And even with this knowledge It seems as if no one has actually seen his true might yet. No one has even seen him break a sweat yet during any mission, no matter how hard it was!
