Judging (Next is Guiding which means emblem earns a flag)
Ambassador | Diagnosan | (Future Plan - Instructor)

Ambassadors are primarily found outside the Plaguelands spreading Mother’s influence across the lands of Sornieth. They are masters of persuasion, flight customs, and courtesy, and will use their extensive social toolset to win over heathen hearts for Plaguebringer’s cause. Within the Plaguelands, Ambassadors may treat with rival clans to broker peace or treaties to better serve the interests of all. They also serve as representatives and messengers between the primary Council in Plague and regional Necromantic Councils located in other Flights. While Ambassadors and Diagnosans often share a similar skillset, the more ambitious Diagnosan rarely strays far from their regional Council headquarters.

Diagnosan is the specialty of the career Councilor, and nearly all high level Councilors have taken Diagnosan as their specialty or sub-Talon specialty. A Diagnosan is a Necromancer’s Necromancer, they translate the philosophy and sacred teachings of Plaguebringer into policy that is meant to guide all Necromancers in carrying out Mother’s Will. Beyond a comprehensive understanding of Plague lore, history and current events, Diagnosans specialize in public speaking, persuasion, mediation… and less openly in intrigue and plotting against their fellows. For while a Diagnosan will claim that advising the Necromantic Order is their only aim, many are drawn to the power inherent in a Councilor’s position. Necromancers who take Diagnosan as their first specialty are often seen as bluntly declaring self-interest over the good of the Necromantic Order, and so the savvier Councilors will take Diagnosan as a sub-Talon specialty.

HulR8QD.png Beast Speakers

Specialty: Ambassador, Sage

Lead by: Thana

'Beast Speaker' is more of a nickname, as many of these Necromancers prefer solitude rather than organized Necromantic societies. Beast Speakers have chosen to strike out from dragonkind and administer to Beastclans instead. They spread worship of the Plaguebringer and perform Necromantic duties once their chosen Beastclan has accepted the Plaguebringer as their primary deity. While others may look down on them for joining with Beastclans, these Necromancers are some of the only dragons familiar with the various diseases of Beasts, and once mastered, can wield them to devastating effect amongst Dragonkind. Beast Speakers have no official representation as a Council Faction, however many Councilmembers are tacit supporters of Beast Speaker philosophy, and will argue their case when Beastclan issues arise.

Thana was and is a mystery. Mainly silent but when she speaks, all will listen. Her voice is always calming and soft-toned, no doubt an authoritative figure. Little is known about her beginnings other than the fact that she has traveled far and wide. In the past, when the Gemini Clan was still forming, she had made her first appearance. A merely traveler passing through. She became friendly with the matriarch, Starrun and the patriarch, Lacuspar; helped cure their ailing General from a simple poisoning from his hunt before going back to her traveling ways. It wasn’t until Lupine joined the clan did Thana make another appearance. A special reunion; Thana was able to see Morrigan again; her apprentice. She was happy to see her again, proud to also see that she had taken an apprentice of her own; young Rook. Amongst friends, Thana decided to keep the Gemini Clan as her home; while keeping her ability to roam.

At first, some of the clanmates were unsure about having so many Plaguebringer desciples (aka: Necromancers) within the clan for fear of angering Tidelord. Starrun with her wisdom calmed everyone. The clan was founded on acceptance and welcomed all who needs a place to call home; therefore, it was already decided. It was then, Thana started to assist the healers and even taught them some new skills that she had witnessed on her travels. It didn’t take long before Thana was asked to join the Council as the Plague Representative which she humbly agreed to as long as she was able to keep traveling. That was never a problem.

So it wasn’t a surprise that Thana disappeared during the 2018 Riot of Rot. It didn’t come as a surprise but it was always a little sad to have a friend not around for a festival. Besides the real shocker was when she returned...and she didn’t come alone.

Following behind she was a small mirror hatchling. The youngling was different and curious and took a big liking to Arodan, the hatchling sitter. Thana explained that the youngling was Heloise and that she was a ghoul that she rescued and now her daughter. Starrun was elated and the clan welcomed the festival hatchling with open arms. It didn’t take long for the clan to notice the hatchling’s unique appearance. Thana worries for her; the youngling’s growth and mental capacity remained as a hatchling. Thana could hear Plaguemother’s voice; faintly deeming this hatchling her child, since her trials left her baren.

Glowing eyes: No dragon is born with glowing eyes. They are the result of some mortal crisis – some personal catastrophe – that brought the dragon to the edge of death, and then saw them refuse to fall. Instead, the dragon survives by breaking through physical and magical limitations to forge a link with their element, one so strong that it manifests as a visible light that emanates from the dragon’s core. While some dragons obtain glowing eyes as a result of traumatic events early in life, many more receive them due to the stresses and deprivations of the Necromantic Trials themselves; often succeeding when they should have failed. Others become ‘twice-touched by Mother’ as Necromancers or Necroservi in the service of their clans, performing some great cure or curse that should have been beyond their limits. Regardless of when they were earned, glowing eyes are a symbol of considerable strength, purpose, and power, rivaled only by primal eyes in the respect they bring. They are a sign that, even beyond the Trials, these dragons have risked death to achieve greatness.

Necromantic Symbols:

Bones, represented by Crown of Bones, Skeletal Chimes, Birdskulls, Warrior's Way Skulls, etc: A symbol of death, truth, enlightenment, austerity, and divination. Necromancers bearing bones often serve as shamans to their clans. They foretell the tides of dominance, dates of future plague outbreaks, and can interpret the will of the Plaguebringer through signs and omens.
Skeletal Chimes Brown Birdskull Wingpiece

Cloaks, represented by Capes, Cowls, Banners, Shrouds, and Guises: A symbol of authority, deception, sacrifice, uniformity, devotion, and service. Necromancers bearing cloaks often serve as priests to their clans. They are first and foremost disciples of Plaguebringer and will insist that Her tenets and decrees are followed to the letter. They guide the day-to-day spiritual practices of the clan and ensure all members are baptized with the latest plague.
Harvest Guise

Masks, represented by all masks, Lion Headdresses, Birdskulls, Plague Doctors Masks, Wolf Capes, and Cranial Hornhelm: A symbol of disguise, becoming, guidance, possession, transformation, and legitimacy. Necromancers bearing masks see themselves as instruments of the Plaguebringer and the hand that enacts Her will. They are counselors to their clans, ensuring that every important decision is in accordance with Plaguebringer's desires. In some cases these Necromancers are shadow rulers, controlling the clan in secret through a figurehead.
Gray Plague Doctor Mask

Lamps, represented by Riot Hazebeacon, Sage Lanterns, Flame Candles, Delver's Lamps, Cindersphere Baubles, and Steampunk Tail Baubles: A symbol of learning, openness, bravery, exploration, humility, evenhandedness, and wisdom. Necromancers bearing lamps often forgo the traditional role of noble advisor and are more often solitary. Instead of worldly power they seek personal enlightenment, and to guide others along that path. Unlike their sigil-bearing counterparts who seek to spread Plague gospel through domination, these Necromancers are content with a more peaceful missionary role, or that of a solitary sage who leaves others to come to them. In a group that defines itself through its command and nobility, the humble, lamp-bearing Necromancer is a rare creature indeed.
