“And then there was a star danced, and under that was I born” – Much Ado About Nothing


The night that [Insert Name Here] was born, a meteor shower was falling over The Sea of a Thousand Currents. As he exited his shell, his eyes soaked in the bright lights distorted by the waves above the nest. The majesty and mystery of the natural phenomena stuck with him even into adulthood. His mother Ebb thought the meteor shower was a good omen for her two sons.

As the boys grew, it was obvious that [Insert Name Here] was a dragon of action and bravery. He would challenge other hatchlings to “play” fights, in which he would always beat them. This meant that he did not have many friends within the clan. His penchant for starting these friendly wrestling matches which always did real damage made his peers give him a wide birth. Eventually Amethyst, another dragon in the clan convinced him to stop trying to spar with the other hatchlings, but to take her on as a regular challenger. [Insert Name Here] became one of the strongest dragons in the clan, and found his calling as a watchman, patrolling the borders of his clan. His energy and enthusiasm were greatly appreciated by the dragons of his clan, who warmed up to him a bit with every foe he bested. Yet, it was never the praise that [Insert Name Here] enjoyed the most from his position. What he loved best was circling the clan lands at night when he could gaze up at the stars, and enjoy the reflection of the moon on the water. Something about the still, velvet blackness punctured by pin ****** of light made him feel whole.

[Insert Name Here] although eventually beloved by his clan, began feel an odd sense of restlessness within his bones. He found himself more regularly drifting closer to the edges of The Sea of a Thousand Currents; exploring where it met The Sunbeam Ruins, The Windswept Plateau and The Tangled Wood. It was The Tangled Wood which most enthralled him. The glowing fungi, and midnight hour darkness which seemed constantly to hang over it reminded him of the peace he found in his nightly flights enraptured by stars.

Ebb, his mother was used to her children leaving. The pull of adventure always seemed to tug hard at their hearts. Probably had something to do with the fact they were raised around dragons who had traveled extensively for most of their lives--or perhaps it was just genetics. She didn’t know. But, she recognized that [Insert Name Here] was reaching a tipping point. She encouraged him to go where the winds of fate took him, and to just remember to stay safe.

[Insert Name Here] immediately took off for The Tangled Wood, excited to discover the mysteries that lurked beneath its shadows. What he ended up finding was a home away from home with a new clan of dragons who welcomed him with open arms into their midst, and were more than willing to share their stories of their own travels. He hadn’t been planning to settle down so shortly after his departure, but it was the first time he had been in a place that made him feel as whole as when he had watched the stars above The Sea of a Thousand Currents.
