"Pride." Evewern's sharp tone immediately caught their attention, so the lounging bogsneak snapped into an alert position. Evewern strode purposely towards Pride with two unfamiliar dragons in tow. Pride gave both a quick once-over and determined they weren't affiliated with any fighters; from the looks of it, neither had any defined and toned muscles. "I need you to train these two new dragons. The ruins are probably the best place to do so, but I think you already know this." Ah. Not affiliated with any fighters yet.

Pride gave her a quizzical look. "I'm not arguing with you on this, but isn't Esra usually the one to bring the trainees there? What's he doing that's more important than this, isn't he the best choice for this kinda thing?" A mirthless smile spread across Evewern's face, and she chuckled.

"Well, you see, one of our allied clans is in dire need of assistance; they're facing threats from beastclans, and they've asked for our help." Her tail whisked across the ground. "So, in short, Esra's taking a vacation in Fire."

"What, he's going to defend an entire clan by himself?" Pride snorted, remembering just how concerned the bright Coatl had been about going to the Ghostlight Ruins without Evewern to back him up.

"Nope, he's just there to help train them to defend themselves, as well how to find their own niche fighting grounds. So, in the meantime, I'm asking you to train these two here." Evewern whisked out a small, crystalline bottle of purple-tinged fluid. She gave it to Pride, shooting them a wink. "Have fun out there. Don't forget to tincture before going." She twisted around, stalking off without another word, leaving Pride with two cold, confused dragons who weren't used to the change in climate between Fire and Ice. "Oh yes, and when you're done with these two, I have another task for you," she called over her shoulder before taking off.

Well.... damn. Pride stood up haltingly, tipping the bottle cautiously into a pocket before turning to face the two foreigners. "Um, so I guess we'll head out to the Ghostlight Ruins then. Uh, so do you guys want to get introductions out of the way now or maybe later?"

Pride ran the two new dragons into the ground; Pride finally escorted them home when it seemed their exhaustion would create dangerous situations when paired with frantic monsters. The two didn't complain though; they both dove into whatever task Pride held them to, and worked hard to complete it to their best ability. They were satisfied with the visitors' work ethic, and didn't protest when the pair asked to go back to the clan for food and rest. A crooked grin spread across their face as one of the two playfully jostled the other on their way towards where food was being distributed; even after a day of struggle and testing their limits, they didn't let it get them down. Pride sat back on their haunches before spotting Evewern. She was padding off into the forest, so Pride followed her to go ask about the other task.
Gods, I can't believe I'm searching out Evewern instead of the other way around. She's usually the one chasing dragons down, not the other way around. Pride's carefully stepped over the scrubby undergrowth, getting closer to Evewern. Why am I doing this. I just want to get some food and go back to napping, do I really want to be looking for more things to do? No. But she's right there, I might as well finish this. "Evewern."
Evewern startled, whipping around with teeth bared. Pride could feel the embarassment coming off her in waves. "Pride! Don't do that, you're going to make me look like a fool in front of the clan!" Her wings bunched up defensively, adding to this flustered moment Pride was absolutely eating up. Evewern was the imperturbable one in the clan, it was fun to see her seemingly out of character.
"What, will it ruin your priceless image when the clan realizes you're not absolutely unflappable and unscarable?" Pride's grin wilted with Evewern's scathing look.
"Some dragons won't listen to me without having to prove to them I'm 'worthy of their respect,', whatever that means. You jump scaring me makes it harder for me to get them to listen, and that's not helping with keeping the clan safe." Evewern's eyes burned into Pride's. "So don't do it."
Pride backed up sheepishly. "I wasn't planning on doing it in front of the clan, sheesh." Some of the tension left Evewern's shoulders, though a guarded caution remained.
"Thank you." Her eyes brightened a bit. "Wait, did you come back to see what else I'd asked of you?" Pride nodded. "Thank you for that as well. You and Esra seem to be the only ones who follow through with things like this out of all those done with training."
Pride tilted their head. "Doesn't Saffron follow through?"
Evewern's muzzle wrinkled at this. "Well, yes. But Saffron is technically still in training, so she doesn't count." Evewern paused. "Ok, so what I wanted you to do was take Lafayette and Breeze out to train. They've been begging for some fighting and I've just been busy. Can you do that?"
Pride bobbed their head in agreement. "Of course. I just saw them too, I'll go get them after I get some food."
Evewern's face lit up. "Thank you!"
"No problemo."
Pride grit their teeth as they had to jump in and take a hit from a monster because Lafayette had turned to Breeze to argue again. Breeze smashed down the monster with a heavy blow, before turning with bared teeth to the arguing trainees.

-uses they-them pronouns and is agender (pride dragon yo holla)
- is ed from the lion king but less dense
- is awfully friendly and other dragons just side eye the hell out of them bc "ain't u gonna try to trick me?" based on tehir breed... it's kinda hurtful but they just kind of shrug it off
-heard about the coliseum and wants in--> wants to become stronger and faster than most, so they can use their body to its full capacity
-sneek snek,, walks around basically silently. most don't realize they're behind them until a magical breeze/soft noise alerts them to Pride's prescence. this is due to thier bogsneak heritage. they take (hah)pride in being able to sneak around so well. being a ninja is cool and underrated
- likes to poke fun at others but is genuinely worried abot hurting them and thus doesn't take things v far
