Asteria

Asteria and her brother, Perseus, were born under an auspicious star. Their mother, a renowned philosopher and student of the natural sciences, documented the event with careful precision but put little stock in its astrological significance. Their father, a learned scholar himself, was less quick to discount such things out of hand. He raised the siblings with tales and legends, foretelling what destinies might await them.

The siblings were also educated by both their parents and the tutors and academics of their clan. By the time they had come of age, their minds were rich and fertile grounds for knowledge to grow. Asteria, like her mother, had become an expert at charting and predicting the movements of the heavens, but wished to see the skies over other parts of Sornieth, rather than simply the familiar constellations of her home. Her brother shared the same passion. And so, she and her Persues set out, to see and learn what they can about the world, not knowing what might await them.
