Soft spoken, she wanders. Wanders for the familiar feeling of agony and misery. She knows the feelings of the undying. It wracks her brain in a terrible way. She takes care of those who are dying. Who are old and graying, who fought their last fight, to hatchlings who never made it.
There is no worse job than a job that primarily deals with watching peaceful dragons go. To hear their last breath. To see the light fade. To have to carry their bodies, and lay them to rest. Many of the dragons in the Grove come nowhere close to Charon, afraid of her. Afraid of the air of death that surrounds her. They don't truly know her, after all, she doesn't collect the bones of her friends, unless ordered. She doesn't make their deaths painful. She sings lullabies and hymns, weaving song of their lifes worth.
Death is merciless; Charon is merciful.
