Scordatura is a child of Salena, a guardian of dreams, and Albedo, a guardian of physical bodies. With these skills, respectively inherited and learned, she followed in her parents' footsteps to become a guardian of the night. As one with such an occupation, she flies out each night to ensure that her clan is safe from invaders who use the darkness of the night as a weapon.

As per her training, Scordatura employs silence and secrecy to the best of her ability when stalking intruders in her clan's territory. She flies high in the air and constantly scans the earth below her for any signs of danger. Once she finds something that is potentially dangerous, she tucks in her wings and becomes a living arrow, her long, sinuous form straight, her wings the only things keeping her from straying from her chosen course. It is then her choice to use the force built up from her dive or to use her gained momentum to chase down her target.

Scordatura is more often than not "asleep" at nights, though. Like her mother, Scordatura is very much aware of the existence of the Dream Corridors. Like her mother, Scordatura is very much aware of the dark creatures that lurk in the passages that connect dragons' dreams. Like her mother, Scordatura is very much aware of the damage that those creatures that so often look like corrupted dragons can cause. Like her mother, Scordatura is horrified of the results of the attacks of those monsters. Like her mother, Scordatura has dedicated her life to never seeing another dragon writhe from never-ending nightmares until they perish.

However, despite her best efforts, there are times when Scordatura is too late to save a dragon from the clutches of eternal sleep. For these dragons, she finds a secluded area, pulls out her harp, and plucks out a melody that is mournful, hopeful, and serene all at once. This she does when she has a moment to spare, a time when she is supposed to rest to defend the dragons who cannot defend themselves in the world of dreams. And rest she does, but only after she has played the songs of those departed and given them a proper farewell.

It was a calm night that night when Scordatura noticed a strange occurrence in the Dream Corridors. She had wandered farther from her usual paths in an effort to stave off enemies long before they reached her clanmates. All was the same until they simply weren't. She found herself in a dream like no other that she had ever seen. She felt like she was in a place that was far larger than herself as she gazed upon pieces of what she could only describe as "worlds" floated all around like fantastic islands but at once were not islands.

A powerful presence unnerved her, but she didn't have the time to focus on it and find its source. Pieces of worlds were coming together some distance away from Scordatura, rippling the space around them, weaving together, and morphing into something else entirely. The result caught her attention, and it then that she realized that the presence and power that she had felt was focused somewhere in the vicinity of the new world. She watched as two creatures approached each other and interacted. Whether they were friend or if they were foe, she didn't know. They certainly weren't threatening to each other.

Scordatura left the strange place as quietly as she came and returned to the waking world. There she sought out a seer who happened to be staying with her home clan at the time. The strange dragon was more than happy to tell the confused Imperial what her next action might be. She was told to leave the clan and seek out the ones that she had seen while she was asleep. Overcome by both curiosity and dread, that was what she did.
