“May you find peace, in this life or the next.” Shaya's hands are careful and gentle as they handle the bodies of those who have passed, preparing them to be interred. Burial, cremation, whatever else, that doesn't matter to her - she'll use the same deliberate touch, careful but not reverent. These are just vessels, after all, empty of life and of any meaning not assigned by mortals. No, where her real craft lies is in the rituals that accompany those physical practicalities, twining her magic in the delicate threads of another's soul to coax them on their way, to whichever god they call out for. ♥ SHAEL (her mother) Initially pleased that her daughter chose a religious profession, Shael only wishes she'd show a bit more deference to the proper goddess... perhaps in exclusion of some of the more distasteful others. ♥ MEYNE (her father) Meyne is often welcome in his daughter's rooms under the temple, his uniquely attuned senses helping her guide the more elusive souls. ♡ SADZHIK (her grandfather) His granddaughter's profession is a little macabre for Sadzhik's taste, but he's happy to supply her with the herbs and oils she requires. ⚔ AVARIN (a rival) Shaya is horrified that Avarin raises the dead, and purely for money too. One day she'll finally manage to convince her to stop. Once she can stop getting so flustered by Avarin's dismissive looks.
