Dirk Gently is a magnet for coincidences, strange occurrences, and bizarre events that all eventually connect. Of course he managed to find his way to the Paradox clan! He calls himself a "holistic detective", who solves cases using the fundamental interconnectedness of all things.
Though he is generally bubbly and friendly, he also can get very snarky, especially when he has the all-too-familiar feeling that he cannot control his own life. He doesn't really like hanging around the scientists, especially those who specialize in studying weird things (like Carlos). He spent his hatchlinghood in a shady organization studying dragons with strange abilities (not to be confused with, like, two other shady organizations doing similar things at about the same time, or even more of them from different time periods).
He has some prior experience with time travel and dimensional travel. His cat is actually a shark. The dog is actually a person. Dirk is not psychic. His jacket is occasionally a shapeshifting Nocturne named Mona.
