ideas: post redacted, breeze and laf become cordial, if not just friendly towards one another? they Depended on the other during the battle and that became a Thing
Night Hazes wrote:
Perhaps it was for the best most of them were on off duty for fighting for the clan; Breeze couldn't remember the last time they'd gotten even close to enough sleep. Their nightly hours were rocked with ugly, tremulous dreams that clung like cobwebs even after wrenching awake, visions of another monstrous beast tearing through the coliseum fighters like claws on paper. They likely weren't alone in that matter, though. Most of the older section of the clan looked equally drained. They all moved like that Emperor had killed a part them all too.

So much had changed. Much had broken, and there'd barely been any time for the clan to process it all before things were already shambling back towards some strange semblance of normalcy. None of them were normal enough for it either; the rot pervades every aspect of clan life. Breeze being able to find themself and Lafayette and any other trainee here at the edge of their lair was a symptom of the clan's illness.

"Laf." They stopped in front of the other, dropping into a sit as his eyes crept open. "Anything new happening?"

He yawns. "Sunshine brought more hatchlings back with her again." He gives them a lazy once-over before continuing. "You look awful. Having nightmares again?"

"More hatchlings? Why? Aren't we running low on space as is?" They grunt at his comment. "Yeah. You don't look so fresh yourself, you know. How's your sleep been?"

"Beats me. You may want to ask Sunshine personally, I don't think anyone understands why right now." He sniffs loudly, disgruntled. "Personally, I think it would be wise to make sure the fresh blood is wholly Tundra-free." He fixes Breeze with a knowing look. "The whole clan reeks of trauma." He rolls onto his belly, raising his head off the dirt with small shake. "Well, we both have enough time on our claws to sleep it off. No one's approached me about training today. They're still all rattled."

Breeze shakes their head, letting out at sigh. "Too many youngsters running around, not enough stable adults around. What are we all doing?" They creep down into a lay as well, nestling their pearl into the crook of a foreleg. "You don't need to be a Tundra to get that impression; I'm sure any young dragon who pays a little attention will realize something's wrong here. Everyone's acting weird and jumpy." Breeze creeps closer, lowering their voice so others who aren't privy to the conversation won't be able to hear. "The flyers and Evewern too?" Lafayette's immediate nod has their stomach knotting up. "Jeez."

"It's messy." His eyes trace the path of a dragon behind them, something that has Breeze turning to look. A small two-headed hatchling trots across the clearing, heads down in obvious pursuit of something skittering across the dirt.

-they and Lafaywtte have a huge grudge against one antoher; Laf thinks they're being given special treatment due to their connectoin and relationship with Jess and some of the other coliseum draons, while Breeze thinks Laf's trying to win a slot and force himeslf into the coliseum team, the slot that should go to Breeze, who had fighting experience from play-fighting with the othe coli fighters. they btho dislike each other intently and gie Evewern the biggest headache. Evewern is tempted to get Gabriel's boyfreind, Tamaran, tthe slot since he's an arcane dragon too and much less of a headache than Breeze or Lafayette, but Tamaran isn't interested in becoming a full-time coliseum fighter, so
