Many things about Kirino are fluid and uncertain, a smiling dragon with frost clinging to their feathers and their mouth painted black as thunder. They can be kind when they want to be, or cold and precise as clockwork.

“Storms like these,” they say to their assistants, smiling with teeth like icicles as the night sky turns bruise-colored and swollen, “Were made for science.” They can turn feverishly focused in a moment, or change their tack just as swiftly.

They stand in the storm-wind and wait for their bones to turn to branches of white light, and laugh as though a thing with claws were trying to tear itself from their throat. Their lab coat rattles with glass beakers full of honey and nightshade.

Their hands are forever in motion, like light and the wind, and the smell of ozone clings to their feathers always. If some of their assistants shrink away from the power of the storm, they pay them no mind. After all, many of the same assistants shrink away from their voice, their touch, and their very presence.
