Before you now rests a surprisingly chill, peaceful spiral…gracefully draped on his armchair with a lovely matching tome. Or perhaps this is a statue - an amethyst geode in the shape of a spiral - wait, no he is, in fact, breathing. He sets aside his book, his voice as calm as his aura. “Well, hello there! I don’t get many visitors though I’ve lived in these parts longer than most. I suppose that happens when you’re perfectly content with the company of a good library. Though I am called upon by my neighbors for spells of protective, spiritual, and cleansing magics. Is that what you’ve come for? Would you like some tea?”

Thystan's studies specialize primarily in medical and psychiatric topics with heavy metaphysical leanings. Though he also is quite at home with archival duties as well. He can be a little eccentric and absent-minded, preferring books and quiet to people. However, that doesn't mean he's unconcerned with people either. Indeed, he loves nothing more than to use his vast accumulated knowledge of physical and mental health and healing techniques both ancient and modern to help out those around him, and not just dragons, but all beings. Then, of course, are the aforementioned protective, spiritual, and cleansing spells.

It's his love of the knowledge and lore itself above the practice that seats him firmly as a scholar rather than an official healer.

(Lore/name is a nod at his amethyst theme and the stone's supposed metaphysical properties of protection, cleansing/clearing of negativity and confusion, general healing properties etc.)
