Once he commits to a course of action, there's no power in all the land that can knock him from his path.

The youngest son of an influential family, Akaan was groomed to be a warrior from birth. He was provided with the best tutors money could buy - and he flourished, growing into the kind of skill that only comes from genuine dedication. Whatever he may feel about his path being laid out for him in advance, Akaan is good with his blade - perhaps even the best swordsman in the East.

To most of the world, Akaan is hardworking but impassive - wielding his polite manners with a noble's deftness to keep anyone from getting too close. Those who know him best would describe him as a reserved and genteel fellow whose favorite tea is chamomile and whose impressive dedication is driven by a deep fear of letting anyone down. Akaan wants to be noticed, but also gets overwhelmed by all the expectations that come along with advancement.

Akaan chooses to have few friends, but the friendships he does make are deep and unbreakable. He grew up together with Ruusaan, a fellow noble, and to this day the two are practically inseparable. His family greatly approved of their friendship and were sure it would lead to a courting, but to their dismay, Akaan fell head-over-heels for Cuyan - a fellow guardsman and a commoner at that! They refused to acknowledge his marriage, and, after scandal struck and Cuyan was imprisoned, immediately moved to distance the family name from the shadow of treason by disowning Akaan.

Akaan firmly believes that his husband is innocent, but with his title stripped away and his career in the City Guard effectively finished, he lacks the political influence to do anything about it. He hasn't given up, though, and if he can't find a legal way to prove that Cuyan was framed, he may just resort to taking matters into his own capable claws.
