Badri is the ghost of a librarian that perished in the catastrophic fire that destroyed the Sound's old observatory, market district, gardens and library. Resurfaced and awoken by the sundering. Despite the centuries between now and the first fire, he still has access to the ghosts of his books. However - any corporeal being trying to check out such a tome would do better to die first.
