Broken Heartstone Glowing Pocket Bauble
Radek frowned at the artifact in front of him, like maybe it was going to bite him or something. Anna watched for a moment, unable to help her small smile at just how seriously one could take something so small.

He took everything seriously. Even things that probably shouldn’t have been. Field trips, for example. He treated them like life-and-death situations, so, naturally, these things had to be handled delicately. “Hey, Dad?” she wondered, wandering closer as though she hadn’t planned all this out.

Radek didn’t even look up. “Yes, Little?”

“I finished my homework,” Anna started, and he nodded appreciatively. Best to lull him into a sense of security about her responsibility first. “And I was thinking I could maybe study some, um, biology with Irwin and Birch.”

“Biology?” Radek looked up, his nose wrinkling. Biology was something akin to witchcraft in his mind, but that was fine. So long as he didn’t think it was dangerous. “Alright, yes, fine. Say hello for me.”

As if they were friends or something. “Okay. Thank you. See you.” No need to say when. Just that she would see him. She trotted off.

He was onto her, though. Looked up. Called her back. “When?”

Anna halted and looked over her shoulder. “Um. Next week?” Maybe she shouldn’t have mentioned Irwin; that was stupid. He was always a tip-off. Usually, when Radek heard his name, he repeated Irwin’s catchphrase in his best (still awful) imitation of Irwin’s accent, Danger, danger, danger.

Radek pressed his lips together a moment and shook out his mane. “Next week, hm?” he said, then shook his head. Was that a smile? “No. I don’t think so. Nice try, though.”

A long time ago, longer than Radek’s poor Tundra memory can conjure, a little Tundra was hatched. Radek was at school at the time, in Light territory, and life was quite good... until it wasn’t. He left, giving his best effort to forgetting what sort of life he’d had before meeting Mere and joining the Chase. When Anna was still quite young, she lost her mother and so went to live with her father with the Tempest Chase. They’re both still adjusting, but she’s determined to make the best of it. There’s not much else she can do.

Even though she certainly wasn’t unhappy with her home before, she didn’t have many friends, perhaps owing to some sort of genetic social incapability. Anna simply doesn’t have much in common with dragons her age. Anna still has few friends, as she is little more than a hatchling and the majority of the dragons around her are adults. Fortunately, Anna always felt a little bit more like an adult than she ever felt like a child.

Anna does her best to be as “grown up” as possible, not causing any trouble or give anyone any reason to send her away when something exciting is happening. She wants to learn all she can, and she’ll do it any way she can. She’s already learning more than she thought she ever would about ancient technologies from Mere, and Lorne helps her out with the more physically-demanding side of the dungeon-crawling gig. That is, she wants to be a “competent dragon” in a way that Radek really isn’t. Even though Radek worries about her constantly, Anna really has a good head on her shoulders. After all, she is his daughter. She might be just as smart as him someday, or maybe even smarter, and she wants to be just like him when she grows up. Radek sort of hopes she’s not. After all, he’s made some mistakes. All's well, though: she’s well on her way to becoming better.

The Light in Anna pushes her interests further, and, ironically, she seems to have inherited a Water dragon’s affinity for magic that Radek does not have. Radek believes one day Anna will settle on a single thing that she wants to know better than anything else, like he did. She believes she can have it all, and Radek hopes she will. Isn’t that what parents want for their children?

   » Radek dad
════════════════════════
.
Despite any evidence to the contrary (from indiscriminate arguments, near-constant complaining, and even internal wishes that he were not there at all), Anna truly loves and admires her father, Radek. Though she doesn’t have many memories of him from her youngest days when her parents were still together, she does remember thinking that her father must be incredibly smart. She wanted to be just like him, and, now, living with him since her mother died, she wonders if that’s really what she wants. He’s still quite smart, of course, but not without his failings. If only there were some way to be… perfect.

   » Lorne fun uncle
════════════════════════
.
Even though Lorne is not a Tundra, and not really any of the Tundras’ friend, Anna likes to consider him her friend. He spends an awful lot of time around Radek, and Anna feels bad for him for that. After all, Lorne is quite an attractive and strong Guardian with better things to do than follow around a few bumbling Tundra scientists. In practice, Lorne functions much like Anna’s fun uncle, which is quite fun for her because she never had a real uncle to her memory. He also lets Anna get away with fun activities that Radek would die before letting her try.

   » Mere other uncle
════════════════════════
.
If Lorne is the “fun uncle,” then Mere is the… other uncle. Anna mostly envies Mere his nearly endless intellect, though his ability to interact with other dragons leaves much to be desired. However, to everyone’s surprise, Mere has made quite a good teacher for Anna, and her looking up to his intelligence has certainly encouraged his already massive ego. However, Anna, and even Mere, are unaware of exactly how fond of her he is. He likes to be needed, yes, but it turns out that needing family and friendship isn’t so bad, either. Maybe he’s just a little bit like everybody else.

   » Melqart first boss
════════════════════════
.
Despite her father’s objections that she was trying to grow up too quickly, Anna took a job at the Crispy Phoenix in Light territory. Other dragons in the Chase frequent the establishment, some for the drinks, some for the food, some for the company. Anna is a cheerful and hard-working server, and Melqart is happy to have her back every time the Chase comes around. She likes the work, but looks forward to the day when she comes to the Crispy Phoenix as a customer and as an adult. Maybe she’ll be a strong adventurer or a smart researcher. She hasn’t decided, but she can’t wait to find out.

APOLLO - mythical
gCRVJB4.png
S0upYuW.png
It’s true that Perytons are much more dangerous than they look, a fact that Anna has yet to quite understand. She appreciates Apollo for his graceful movements and beautiful appearance, but not for how much power he hides from her. After all, myths must come from somewhere, mustn’t they? Apollo believes, unlike Radek, in the school of hard knocks: Anna can learn more from failing than she can from being protected. Radek and Apollo, therefore, don’t get along all that well. Anna thinks she agrees with Apollo… but she hasn’t really had the chance to see just how hard she can fall.

━━ notes ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
» Anna takes her surname from her father, Radek Greenwater.

» Even though they both think it’s a bit silly, Radek still requires her to learn subjects like sociology and art.

» Even if in a mechanical way more than an artistic one, Anna has been playing the harp since she was small. Practical reasons include: increasing dexterity, encouraging practice habits, and performance opportunities.

» Memory Box. A story featuring Anna, and her father Radek. After Anna’s mother died, Anna went to live with Radek and the Tempest Chase. Unfortunately, Tundra memory can make it quite difficult to remember even the most important things. Radek, however, as usual, has a pretty good solution.

Yes, this is a dragon for my Stargate OC.
