Noir

Lorelai had waited all year for Night of the Nocturne. The other holidays were fun and all, but this one was made for her. When it finally arrived, she soared out into the night with a cheer as the other nocturnes looked on with worry, concerned about her... lack of grace.

Oddly enough, when she did crash, it wasn't her fault--a ridgeback collided with her, unable to see her dark colors silhouetted against the night. She tried to break her fall with her front legs, but it did little more than cause her serious pain.

She lay dazed from the impact for what seemed like an eternity before she heard her sister Cermossei's frantic cries. "Lorelai! Are you alright!?" she was yelling, a panicked expression on her face.

"Yeah... yeah, I'm okay," Lorelai choked out. She was still in shock, her arms aching from the impact. Her mind was drifting in and out of reality.

Cermossei was little more than white noise going on about how she had seen the whole thing, and she had already fetched for the clan healer Flora and don't worry she'll be here soon, and where did that egg come from?

Lorelai snapped back to reality at that part. "Huh?"

"That egg," Cermossei gestured to the egg clutched in Lorelai's injured arms, "where did you get it from?"

Lorelai looked down in bewilderment. Sure enough, there was an oddly-shaped egg resting in her arms. She couldn't even feel anything other than pain, so how did that get there...?

"I... I don't know."

When Noir hatched, he clung to Lorelai immediately. She and Rhys raised him as if he were their own son. Funnily enough, they also had a biological daughter on the same day. The two are practically brother and sister, and Rhys and Lorelai love them both equally. Noir is a nocturne in every sense; he can easily pick up on the personalities of nearby dragons. Unfortunately that means he's picked up on his mother's clumsiness. His personality seems to morph every hour, depending on who he spends time with.
