Born on the darkest day of the year, Alina has always been a cheerful, gentle dragon, a bit of light in the dark. She inherited her father's foresight and her mother's grace, and is loved throughout the clan.

Alina studies with her father, trying to learn from his experience how best to use her gifts. She's a talented prophet and seer, learning quickly how to best use her powers. She's stringently moral, always trying to determine how best to serve her clan with her powers.

She adores her family and her clan, but worries constantly about their fates. She particularly worries about her brother Zain; she has a nagging feeling he isn't the person he pretends to be, but tries to have faith in him. She's the only one who seems to see the little bits of nastiness he lets show when he thinks no one is looking.
