Dragon Log

A young experimenter who joined the Clan on a whim, he found an instant friend in Runemaster and Spellweaver...and also in several Pearlcatchers. He has a natural affinity to Fire magic, and took very quickly to the idea of leaning to bend raw magic to his will. In his case, however, he tends more to turn raw magic into power that generates warmth, and even in some cases produces flames out of midair--much to the delight of many of the younger dragons of the clan....

8-28-14: During the Flameforger's Festival, one of the daughters of Athena found an interesting Accent, Gilded Metalworker. Unable to wear it herself, she offered it to Flame, as she thought it would complement his colors nicely.... he most heartily agrees!

10-11-14: His Crimson Reef Snail has Awakened! Flame is very happy for his friend, and looking forward to seeing what the aloof snail will do now....

10-18-14: A slightly mischievous dragon himself, he has caught the eye--and the heart--of Athena and her consort's mischief-making daughter. Now they have 1 small egg in the Nesting Grounds, and he is very much hoping it will hatch....

10-23-14: The egg has hatched successfully, and a young male Pearlcatcher has joined the clan. Flamecaster is proud of his new son, whose coloring at least, does, in fact, seem to reflect his father. Whether his temperament will as well remains to be seen...

1-6-15: Parenthood not withstanding, Flame is still interested in causing mischief... and in helping those who do. During the Night of Nocturne Festival, he stumbled on a strange chest, and upon opening it found a Sundial Imposter. Most dragons would have been disappointed, but not this one. Flamecaster is already growing close to his new friend--so much so, that the other dragons in the Clan are a little worried about what he might have planned....

2-24-15: A Prank War was "accidentally" started between the Clan and their friends of Teeka's Clan, during the Trickmurk Circus. So far there have been a number of pranks pulled, including one involving a bunch of Micro Deer running around with bells on, courtesy of Teeka's Clan. The Clan thought that they had solved the problem, but then Norberta went and set them off again when she wandered over to investigate the situation. ( ) Now Flame wants to send a response to Teeka, and several in the Clan are more than willing to help out.... ( )

Flame’s little “music stone” prank was found by one of the more playful adult dragons of Teeka’s Clan, ( ) and so the prank did not work out quite as Flamecaster wanted, but the Tundra in question was almost as good... ( )

2-28-15: Exhausted from the pranks, Flame decided to head out into the Circus Grounds and see what the rest of the Clan was doing. He quickly realized that he was going to have to find a certain Guardian--fast--and ended up at the Trickmurk Parade... ( , )

4-7-15: Shady, the Sundial Imposter, has Awakened at last! Flame is very happy for his friend, and has already begun planning new mayhem....

4-15-15: Mischief-making is always better with two..or three.... or four... At any rate, Shady has decided to add to the number in this not-so-small family by coaxing a Hydra Scorpion to join in the fun. The other Spirals are staying well away from his sting.... Well, all except one, as the dark green Spiral has some ideas for charging some interesting potions with a combination of Hydra venom and Radioactive Slime discharge....

7-14-15: The Hydra Scorpion has Awakened at last! His Spiral companion is thrilled that he is now much stronger than he was. For some reason, Flamecaster seems to be the only dragon of the Clan who thinks that this is a good thing....

8-4-15: Flame surprised everyone-including himself--when he took a new familiar less than a month after the Hydra Scorpion Awakened. To the relief of much of the Clan, however, this newest friend is not nearly as nasty or venomous as some of his earlier choices... but why on Sernioth did the Tigerblood Foo choose a Spiral Flame-throwing Mischief-Making Shadow Mage as his companion? Could there be more to this little Tiger than meets the eye? Perhaps the Clan should remember that it's always the quiet ones you have to watch....

11-12-15: The Tigerblood Foo has Awakened! The Clan is interested to see where this relationship will go--and no one is more intrigued than Flamecaster in what the results will be....

2-22-16: While watching the Trickmurk Circus Parade, Flame was conked on the nose by a soft circle of flowers.... ( , ) Now he is wearing the Daisy Lei in honor of that day. However, he will probably place it in the Vault soon--the daisies keep getting in the way of his Shadow Flame Magic....

7-27-18: Flame decided to take a peek at the Thundercrack Carnivale this year, and ended up getting drawn in, despite himself... ( ) …And incredibly, Flamecaster was chosen to acquire something from the Metamorpher Machine! The Clan is a bit impressed by his accomplishment, though they could have done without all the gray smoke that billowed everywhere.... ( )

8-27-18: Flame was, indeed, changed by the Metamorphoser, but now he has acquired another change: Apparently his proficiency in Shadow Flames has given him a Conflagrant Halo, which, combined with the Voltaic Halo that Mainframe has already gifted him with, has created a rather unique effect....now the Clan is wondering what will happen during the Shadow Festival this year....

8-30-18: Oh dear...it seems that the magic at a certain forge during the Flameforger's Festival has been affecting Flame's own fires... ( )

Flame's attempts to contain his unusually powerful Shadow Fire were, fortunately, just as successful as his attempts to acquire some of those extraordinary bottles: The Forge did not burn down, and Flame walked away with 9 Lit Bottles to place on his Trophy Shelf, a host of new friends...and a healthy respect for the Fire power surrounding that incredible Forge....

9-12-18: Flame returned to the Forge today, in order to try to solve two problems at once: A rapidly sickening fire snake, and a heartbroken Clanmate. He was successful in both endeavors, changing the fire snake into a mini dragon, and thus gifting Ruth with a “Fire Lizard” that the ecstatic Ridgeback has already adopted as his own. ( )

3-14-19: Once again, that strange visual magical effect has struck a dragon, and to no one's surprise Flamecaster now has a Murkmirth Halo surrounding him, as a perfect complement to the Volataic and Conflagrant Haloes he is already sporting...

1-30-20: Flamecaster was a but startled today, when a Random Draw to pick the Ice Hockey team for the Sornieth Winter Games ended up with him being assigned a position as Left Forward. ( ) Ah, well. It could be worse. At least he wasn’t chosen for Goaltender…

2-2-20: Flame stayed behind after his team was finished, to wait for the results, and help to break down the camp. To his great delight, this has given him a chance to indulge in some magical studies he doesn't usually get to play with, as he is the only mage awake enough to take down the protections on the camp.... ( )

2-7-20: Despite a valiant effort from the team, it was not meant to be. They were overwhelmed in the third round, and ended up finishing in the middle of the lists. Still, it was not a complete disaster. Flame managed to play well, and not make a fool of himself. Even better, he was not exceptional, and so will be unlikely to be picked next year. At least, that is his hope…
