Biography
QueenRed
Uh-oh, looks like this willful leader wandered a little too far from her home lair (QueenRed, 310371), and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but she would be very grateful!

Red scoped out the nearby areas, only to find that there was nearly nothing alive left around their small home. She let out a small cry as she took to the sky to find a new place to call home.

Red flew over the volcanic vents of the Ashfall Waste, her wings tiring after a long flight from the Sacred Wasteland. She soared to the ground, her claws sinking into the familiar ground. Even if she had never been there before, it was in her biology to want to go there. Although the one problem was, she did not actually know anything about the area she landed in- Red was simply lost.
The coatl waited, watching the skies for any dragon that might have a sense of direction. She spotted a pink spot in the air, and took off flying towards it. It was a fae, sparkly and the most fabulous color of pink. He was arcane, which first confused Red, but she realized she had also come from somewhere close to there.
"Ma'am, you alright?" The fae spoke, his voice dripping emotion the coatl had never heard from the breed.
"Uh- yes I believe. I just need a bit of advice- am I anywhere near a town? Perhaps simply a cave, if there is none?" Red continued, her eyes darting around now she was above ground- but smoke and ash were covering most of her view.
"Oh, no way! We haven't had a visitor for such a long time!" The fae did a barrel roll in the air, "I'm Amaranth! You can come with me, my clan has so much space!"
The Sanguine female smiled widely, the sudden energetic change in her savior encouraging her that everything would end up much better than she believed, chasing after him as he zoomed away towards his home.

Amaranth led his new friend to the camp he lived in, introducing her to the other newer additions to the clan. Red got to know a sweet guardian who helped her decorate a hut- one of which visitors got to stay in. Everything in the village seemed festive, although they lived in a wasteland of fire and lava, they grew trees and hung lights, dancing in the streets, and simply being kind to any creature they meet.
Red was beloved by every dragon, but Amaranth was loved back. He and the coatl ended up expecting- one fire egg sitting in the nursery. This time she met a snapper, kind and slow- with a calming yet strong voice, named Fern. Perhaps the Snapper could tell the coatl was quickly becoming confused between the dragons, and brought her in to see her soon to be child.
Once again Red found herself lovingly looking at Amaranth as he sat on the egg, his wings covering it, and his eyes drooping as he fell asleep. The fae had promised to watch the egg, as he was staying with his clan while his mate was not. He had admitted that as the egg hatched, he too would be moving to a new clan. But rather then travelling, it would most likely be permanent.
The egg hatched a few days later, and Amaranth helped Red pack her bags, her son following the fae everywhere he went. The two had an emotional goodbye, leaving Marbles in the care of the clan leader, Molten, her mate Turt, and her daughter Sunny. Then the two walked away together, finding themselves at the very place they met.
"Well, Amaranth. I have had an amazing journey with you- but I must get going." Red smiled slightly, her eyes showing bitter sweet happiness.
"Me as well Queenie." Amaranth chuckled, giving her a hug and flying away off to Lightning, in this same hurry Red had found him in before.

After a long flight, Red couldn't stand the exhaustion much longer. She landed somewhere in the Lightning flight's domain, too exhausted to care where.
Blinking her eyes open, Red peers at her surroundings with a groan.
"Oh, you're awake!" As her eyes adjusted, she could make out the form of a pink coatl speaking in their native humming tones. They were inside some sort of dug-out den, Red believed.
"Where am I..." she asked in the same "language" as she shook herself awake. The coatl went on to explain how the Stormcrash had just your ordinary day that day, but out of nowhere a red coatl had come to nap in the middle of the streets. Larthilla had brought her inside and let her sleep in her bedding.
After being fed and taken care of by the friendly Stormcrash clan for two days, Red set off again with a quiet goodbye.

The next time she touched down, she planned it, and made sure she was awake, but she was exhausted this time, too. She was so tired she didn't even realize she'd gone through the entire process of renting a room at the inn - paying for it, telling the innkeeper where she'd come from, turning down the offer of a meal in her room - in the coatl language until after she'd closed the door to her room. The innkeeper, she confirmed the next day - after she'd slept something like 20 hours - was in fact another coatl, who greeted Red cheerfully and set her up with tea, a basket of mussels, and the breakfast menu.
Refreshed and rested, she was better prepared to inspect her temporary home. The clan was a large, mixed group, with dragons of all kinds and origins, and their "lair" was more a small village than a traditional lair or burrow, although they seemed to have a central structure built onto and maybe into the Behemoth's trunk. Outside the trunk was a large open space, filled with stalls and kiosks selling food, clothing, flowers, and assorted goods from all over Sornieth.
It couldn't have been farther from her home in Plague territory, in more ways than one. Maybe that helped her to settle in here, to lose track of time as she took an apprenticeship with the clan's goldsmith, a stylish and colorful coatl named Phoenix. No longer a leader, she could just live, here. It was peaceful, but in the end, it wasn't where she belonged, and she finally said her farewells to her companions here and took to the skies again.

While at the Glowing Hydrangea Sanctuary I met a really nice Coatl named Janette and we’ve become really great friends. We’re going to travel together for a while until we go our separate ways. I’ll never forget her.
