Backstory
Merry hatched in a small fire clan. He had a good childhood, and enjoyed spending time with his family. However, once the rumors began about the awakening of the deities, Merry couldn't help but see it for himself. He snuck out early in the morning and made his way to the Great Furnace.

When Merry was flying over the great volcano, it erupted. Merry was flung through the air with the great gushing smoke, but not before he saw a large, fiery eye and heard a voice saying "This Fire Consumes." He ended up being flung to the Windswept Plateau, where he was discovered by Carmen. She brought him to Windkeep Tower, where she had been traveling. Once he recovered from his injuries, he found his place in the clan as Sacredscream's apprentice.


Personality
More than anything, Merry is out to have fun. He is very quick to find the positive in any situation, and to jump into some sort of game. He finds it hard to take things seriously, and has been known to play pranks on those who are more serious in nature. Beneath all the fun, however, he has a good heart and likes to cheer others up if they are feeling down.

He also has a great love of stories of all types, especially if they are overly exaggerated. He has been known to add more and more details of varying degrees of accuracy whenever retelling a story.


Current Life
Merry works with Sacredscream of the library, though to his mentor's annoyance, he does not take history seriously. As a lover of fiction more than non-fiction, Merry is in the habit of adding or exaggerating facts in the hopes of making it a better story. He is, however, good at shelving and organizing books when he does not get distracted.

When he is not working, Merry can be found practicing his instruments, entertaining at The Copper Lotus (the local tavern), and visiting his friends. He is very popular around Windkeep Tower, and he is often one of the first to greet newcomers to the clan. He is also very close to Fenn, and considers her to be like a mother to him.
