PERSONALITY
Seriadne's eyes say light, but the way she behaves says otherwise. Yes, like a normal light dragon, Seriadne spends her fair share of time studying, reading up on information she finds useful and keeping various books and scrolls on hand, but that is where her light-ness ends.

Seriadne's attitude is very aloof, as if she doesn't give a damn about anything in her life. Everything to her is taken at outward value, there will be no emotional ties or deeper meaning unless absolutely necessary. Seriadne is also very quiet, and is fond of speaking cryptically or in riddles.

Each year, she seems to descend deeper and deeper into darkness, the only thing keeping her from becoming completely insane is her necromancy skills....

BACKSTORY
Seriadne was an odd one since her birth. After all, she was a dark colored dragon born under the light alignment. Others in her clan played it off like it was just her taking after her mother, a shadow dragon, but some knew better....

Seriadne was distant as a hatchling, preferring to be alone and studying by herself rather than study and compare notes with other hatchlings her age. The elders of her birth clan took note of this and became concerned. Matters became even more concerning when they became aware that Seriadne could not harness the powers of light magic.

In her adolescents, the other dragons knew to avoid speaking to her. She was a quiet dragon, never spoke unless spoken to, and when she did speak it consisted of cryptic messages and riddles that took a dark tone. At that time, the elders had decided she had a mental sickness, but when they pried into her thoughts, asking her questions about what she saw or heard or felt, she wouldn't give anything up easily.

By the time she was an adult, Seriadne began to play around with necromancy and black magic in private, making creatures out of bones and miscellaneous objects. She was good at keeping it a secret, at least, until she began to smell like blood and decay, as the other dragons in her tribe put it. They raided her private den, a room in the clan's lair she had to herself, and found her crimes evident in the bones and pages strewn through out her room. At this point, the Elders determined amongst themselves that Seriadne was shade-touched and ordered her to be chased from the Lightweaver's domain.

Seriadne wrote:
"Light needs shadow, and shadow needs light, we balance each other perfectly, do we not? Or am I not shadow, and you, not light?"

Seriadne ended up in the domain of the plague. Of course, a perfect place to practice her necromancy. The outcast imperial even found a clan, and in this clan a mate, and here she would stay, for a while at least.

In the plague domain, Seriadne would birth her first hatchlings with a Skydancer. However, unlike Seriadne's tainted mind, these hatchlings were born normally. Her mate began to speak of exaltion for their hatchlings, a fate that would eventually befall them, but Seriadne often shut him down. Something in Seriadne boiled when she heard of Exaltion. After her hatchlings became full-grown, Seriadne left the plague domain, not wanting to be there at the send off of her children to where they would eventually serve the gods.

As Seriadne traveled, the markings of the shade began to dye her scales and her eyes began to dim.

Eventually, Seriadne arrived in the Arcanist's domain,, deep in the Crystalpine reaches, where a new clan was developing. She was offered a pretty penny by the clan leaders, and found herself setting up camp in the new clan. Here, she was able to continue her necromancy and studdies of black magic more freely. After all, the arcane were dreamers that would stop at nothing to accomplish those dreams.

After spending moons living in the new clan, a newcomer arrived, a newcomer that would eventually become Seriadne's new "mate", or at least the male she preferred to breed with. An outcast assassin, he was. A red pearlcatcher named Hunter. Seriadne grinned at the prospect of being with a pearlcatcher, a romance forbidden by their species differences. Yet somehow, with her aloof behavior and persuasive words, she had talked him into it. After all, neither of them had nothing to lose, and they both agreed to an open relationship.

Now, the shade-touched imperial has several children sprung from a forbidden romance, an outcast for a mate, and a place to practice her dark arts. If that didn't scream anything was wrong, due to the fact she was born under the light, then Seriadne didn't know what did. At least, the imperial could keep her insanity in check.... for now.... It's only a matter of time before the shade take control....
Seriadne wrote:
"Those foolish elders, claiming it was sickness. But I know better, my dears, I know better. The voices in my head are clear, they grow stronger with my magic each day, the light I was born with has all but faded. The markings of shadows and darkness spread across my back. One day, they'll see the grave mistake they made."
