Dragon Log

First Generation Male, found Duskshadow and liked what he saw. He likes the hatchlings they produce even better...although he does wish they would find mates and stop teasing all the girls.

He has become a force to be reckoned with the in the Coliseum…but not as a Fighter. He leaves that to his mate and to their beloved adopted daughter, Twilight. Dust’s specialty is in Healing—and he is the best in the clan. A bit surprising for an astronomer turned scholar…but then, no one has asked him exactly how he managed those Healing feats, and he does seem to spend an awful lot of time studying star patterns before every fight…..

9-16-14: His Fallout Streak has awakened! He is pleased for his friend, and wishes him well on his many flights.

9-17-14: The Fallout Streak is stretching his wings, and a Silver Ferret has climbed into Moondust's sleeping area. He isn't sure how she got there, but she's a little too cute to turn away....

12-14-14: Star, his Silver Ferret friend, has Awakened! After a rocky start where her cute face and furry body persuaded him to keep her around despite misgivings, the two have become almost inseparable—much to Duskshadow’s amusement. So this day is a happy one indeed for the small family, and Dust is eager to see what his unusual “daughter” will do next….

12-28-14: While battling in the Coliseum, Duskshadow, Moondust, and Twilight found a Strange Chest... and upon opening it received a pleasant surprise. The little egg hatched to reveal a living Nocturne female.... who instantly wormed her way into the hearts of the two parents of the lair. Duskshadow is thrilled to have another daughter at last, and Moondust is quite proud of his little princess....

8-28-15: Coliseum fighting can become somewhat tedious at Festival time, so Moondust was not really that surprised to find that his mate and his daughter, Twilight, had both decided to stop into the gaming area of the Flameforger’s Festival. He was a bit surprised to discover what, exactly, they were doing there, however, and how er, appropriate this particular game is for his own current mood…. ( , , )

…And when all was said and done, the entire Coli team had a wonderful time avenging themselves on those elusive mammertees by destroying the annoying mammertee plushies, and they even got some great prizes out of the deal…

9-20-15: On the very first day of the Starfall Celebration, Moondust made the acquaintance of a Stardust Scholar. The match seems to be made in, well, in the heavens....

12-23-15: Another year, another Night of Nocturne. Moondust has been enjoying himself fighting it out in the Coliseum, encountering odd new Mimic foes and collecting strange chests. So much so, that he nearly forgot about another, even more significant event: It came as quite a shock to the father of the Clan to discover upon rising this morning that his Stardust Scholar companion had Awakened during the night! Moondust is thrilled for his old friend, and considering taking some time off today to play with him--or at least to help him find his name.....

2-27-16: While wandering through the Tangled Wood during the Trickmurk Circus, Moondust came upon a very intriguing pool, and ended up making a try for a prize… ( )

1-30-18: While taking a break from the Coli, Moondust headed over to the Gala grounds to see if there was anything interesting. He found quite a few nice stalls, and then found something that caused his blood to boil: The newest addition to the Clan, Saturnalia, was standing alone in front of the Gala gates, clearly cold and frightened out of her wits. Needless to say, there are a few dragons of the Clan that are going to be hiding from the Clan Father's wrath for some time.... ( )

2-2-18: Moondust got a bit distracted from just retribution when his daughter, Twilight, started to have trouble with her magic, and “attracted” every Coliseum creature to her side. Fortunately, Moondust is not just adept at stargazing and fighting. A quick check in the Clan’s master list of spells solved the problem: A combination of a containment spell of his own design--useful for corralling rambunctious hatchlings--and a modified Portkey Spell borrowed from Norberta and JKR--and WHERE did they come up with that name?--and the creatures were all safely contained in the hoard where they belong. Moondust is quite proud of himself for that one.... ( )

3-30-19: Moondust journeyed to the Windswept Plateau for the Mistral Jamboree this year, looking forward to some relaxing days at the widely acclaimed Cloudsong Celebration. Unfortunately, while he was listening to a beautiful, and talented, Skydancer musician perform her art, he was distracted by the (nowhere near as lovely) sounds of one of his Clanmates shrieking like a harpy at her wayward mate—and noticed that her magic was also getting wildly out of control. As a result, the usually gentle Tundra had to abandon his relaxation to go deal with the situation, and to prevent Oberon and Titania from destroying the entire Celebration between them. And now he has to keep an eye on Oberon’s bonding with that Hippojay as well, and make sure the poor creature is happy with his dragon. Needless to say, Moondust is not pleased at the moment… ( , )

3-31-19: Titania and Oberon did, in fact, behave. So much so, that Titania ended up getting an extra gift (a painted portrait) before the Festival ended. ( ) And Moondust even managed to get in a much more pleasant talk with one of his daughters before it was time to leave… ( )

9-26-20: There was an unexpected development in the Clan today: An unknown, extremely odd, Nocturne dragon showed up, and asked to be admitted to the Clan. She is apparently fascinated with using offensive magic in moon spells, and could find no other Clan willing to indulge her interests. Duskshadow and Moondust agreed to let her stay for a while, to see how she liked it here. No one was prepared for what this would mean for the Clan...

....Within seconds of her arrival, she was hit by a stray blast of magic, and developed rather beautiful black markings. While she was still admiring these new marks--and thanking the dragons who had caused the blast--the new Nocturne was approached by Moondust's old friend, "Star." The Silver Ferret (who it turns out is male, and not female as the absent-minded Tundra had assumed) began to chirp excitedly, and then scampered off to the Hoard. He returned moments later, with the Clan's previously un-bonded Fae Ferret, who literally ran over to Moondsut, purring in happiness. It seems that Monndust's original misgivings years ago about his bond with the Silver Ferret were not unfounded, and that bond was not nearly as strong as he thought. In fact, the bond has now vanished completely! Now "Star" is happily cuddling with the newest addition to the Clan, and even accepted the new name "Fel" at the Nocturne's suggestion.

But the newly named “Fel” was not completely dismissive of his old friend, which was apparently why he went to the Hoard for the Fae Ferret, who it seems has been secretly desiring to get to know Moondust ever since she herself showed up at the Clan. And so, even as "Fel" is settling in with his newly chosen dragon, his female ferret friend has taken the name "Star" for herself, and curled up next to Moondust in Fel’s old place, with every intention of staying for good now that “her” dragon has noticed her at last…

12-23-20: "Star" (II) has Awakened! And her obvious joy at completing the Bond she has wanted for so long is proving why her name is so appropriate: The Fae Ferret is literally glowing, lighting up the whole area of Moondust's favorite spot in the Main Cave. In fact, her inner glow is so bright that it has attracted the attention of some of the more research-inclined dragons of the Clan, who are determined to discover whether this fascinating phenomenon is unique to her species, or whether a dragon could learn to replicate it. So far their efforts to do have been fruitless, but perhaps with time they will get better. In the meantime, Moondust is thoroughly enjoying watching his newest companion’s happy antics, and wondering what other interesting facets of her species will begin to emerge now that she is fully mature…
