Matriarch | Healer | Prospective Pirate

Daffodil was designed and named after my parakeet, who left us for bird heaven March 2017

As the clan's Matriarch, Daffodil serves as a leader in combat as well as other situations. She can often calm other dragons in the fray of battle and other chaotic situations, or rally them when morale is low.

She serves as a healer for dragon and familiar alike within her clan, due to her mysterious but powerful inborn healing abilities. As a nature dragon, she is also capable of nature combat magic.

She has always wanted to be a pirate, although why is not known. Due to this fascination, she has picked up some skill with a blade, and can use swords, daggers, and spears in battles. She is working on developing these skills and getting stronger by training with the already skilled warriors of the clan.

She is well known for her calm attitude, soothing demeanor, and nurturing, motherly personality. She adopts familiars and hatchlings who are in need or abandoned and have no one to care for them. She is often called upon to diffuse tense situations or arguments and prevent outbursts or fights that could lead to someone getting hurt.

BIO

____Daffodil, as one of the clan founders and the matriarch, is a dragon of gentle and nurturing disposition. Often referred to as "Mama Bird" (in part for her disposition, in part for her love of birds and feathers, and in part for her tendency to sing while completing tasks and going about her daily routine), she has often been spotted caring for, aiding, or taking in stray animals as well as lost hatchlings, and takes great care of hatchlings of her own, both biological and adopted.

____She is the primary peacekeeper of her clan and the co-founder and leader most often called upon when someone is injured or feeling down or when an issue or dispute needs settle in a gentle and understanding manner. Her natural-born healing abilities serve her well both at home and in battle. The only thing about Daffodil that is not gentle is her unexplained love of pirates, and the one time she shows her more wild side is when she goes about dressed in pirate gear, strutting and whooping through the clan's territory and talking in perfect pirate speak. Her downfalls as a leader stem mainly from her memory. Although her memory is better than that of most tundras, she is still forgetful. Luckily. her mate, Ezekiel, keeps her on track and reminds her of her duties when she can't remember.

History

____Daffodil was born here in the Everbloom Gardens, in the Viridian Labyrinth, and was raised mostly by her mother, whom she remembers fondly. Although her memory serves her somewhat better than most Tundras, and she has never forgotten a face, she has never left the place she was born for any extended period of time, for fear of forgetting her homeland and the dragons and customs there, which she has grown to love. A second reason she remains here is the fact that she feels that she is best suited to life in the Viridian Labyrinth, as part of the nature fight, helping things grow and thrive.

Love

____She met her mate, Ezekiel, one day when she had stopped on her way to her home to pick up an abandoned or orphaned Hainu pup, which would become her loyal familiar. He was so taken by her caring nature and her generosity at taking in a creature in need, an infant who wasn't her own and that she owed nothing, that he decided to approach and meet her, and later to court her. She took a liking to his feisty nature as well as his softer side, and quickly learned to interpret his emotions through his fins.The two quickly bonded and became a pair. They decided then to start a family and before they knew it they had begun a clan of their own. Unlike the others, he calls her "Pretty Bird".

Mother

____Daffodil looked up to as a mother figure by all in the clan. She is known as Mama Bird for this reason as well as others (these being her tendency to dress in feathers and her gentle, melodic singing voice. She is the adoptive mother of most of the other elder dragons in the clan, as well as her own children. She also brings home many of the familiars that reside within the clan's lairs. When a dragon of the Garden of The Seed-Sowers refers to Mother or Mama, they are most likely referring to her.

Pirate

____Daffodil has an unusual interest in pirates and wishes to be one, although why is unknown. She often dresses and speaks the part. She is learning to use a blade from the clan's warriors and learning stealth and theft tactics from the shadow dragons of her clan, in order to better fill the role. Even her familiar fits the role, although this was accidental. It is often speculated that her father, whom she does not remember so well as her mother, may have been of the water flight, which could have led to such behavior. Someday she wishes to own a ship of her own, whether aquatic or aerial, to sail.
