Nature herself - a victim to this spreading corruption: malformed with misintent.

Aster had felt shooting pain through her body for months now, before finally losing herself to the red madness. The crimson plague showed no mercy to the poor souls who found it coursing through their bodies. Dragons infected would lose their minds long before their bodies became husks of their former selves. Those infected had long nights of travel, dazed and confused, and this poor girl was no different than the rest of them. As her body began to decay, she would find herself on the edge of a darkened forest. A second chance at life came from the endless wandering, as nature itself decided to act. Her body would become a vessel to fight the corruption that threatened the way of life of many- though there was a problem. Riddled with disease, Aster would first need to be cleansed. Smoke clouds billowed, as the purifying fire eradicated all of the infection.


She awoke when light first began to leak through the treetops, now changed from her former glory. Her hide had become rough, like tree bark, and vines grew from her back. Her body was scarred from the burning embers, and what was not scarred, was replaced with foliage from the earth. Where as disease took her mind, a second chance at life took her body, a small price to pay. She now hunts those infected with the red madness, insectoid creatures that prowl the forest. She hears the call of her former god, but it does not register in her mind anymore. She knows what she must do now.
