Who or what Simeon once was, he does not know anymore. Not even his old name. He assumes, that he used to be a Pearlcatcher when alive, a dull pearl the first thing he can clearly remember. So he took the pearl and the bones lying around and constructed a body for himself. The living call him a ghost, a wandering spirit, and he felt the word right for him so he embraced it. Dead he was, that much he had already realized, turns out constructing ones body himself is not a normal thing to do. And so he wandered around, not fitting in with the living and being the only unresting dead around soon led him to a lonely life. He began to forget again.

Nothing tethered him to the living world anymore, the few he met died, again and again and again. And so he was lonely and with no one to remember he soon began to forget again. His essence faded, his constructed body withering away, wisps flaking away. Only his pearl he kept near, the only thing still being completely corporal. Soon he became listless, searching for a final resting place. A field of flowers, sea petal colored, lured him in and by day he roamed it, picking flowers and twining them together, by night he watched the moon, the cold shine illuminating the field around him in deep blues, silvers, and blacks. And so he awaited his final death, his rest at last.

Howling ripped him from his musing one night, wisps floating all around him. His whole front had already fragmented, the skin and bones withered away, and he turned the grotesque parts left to the towering hills surrounding his field. The darker wisps were the first thing he saw, then the Hounds came. Skeletal bodies and dissonant howling, pale red eyes glowing dully. They formed a loose circle all around him, veering from their original path, curious about this fragmented soul. The biggest one stepped forward, the vicious Alpha, who had ripped her way through her old pack to lead this new one created from the outcasts of that dead pack. It was her that nosed along his face and felt a kinship to this fading soul. And with one haunting howl she nudged him along, faster and faster they ran and whenever Simeon faltered, confused, the Hounds were at his sides and nipped his flanks. And so he became part of this pack of Wraith Hounds.

So the pack became his home, his laughter, laughter that was nearly forgotten, carrying over hills along the howls of the Hounds. He may be a bit broken still but the Hounds' loyalty had healed many of his cracks, where he had forgotten what it was like to be a dragon, he filled the space with the Wraith Hound's familiar shape.

So if you hear the Wraith Hounds' chilling howls, listen closely for you may hear a chiming laughter following, ghostly fires dancing along your vision. They are not evil, they only are, eery and phantom like. Wait for them to pass and watch for the dragonlike apparition that follow, his grin mischievous.
Their hunt is over, the master gone, but the pack is loyal and they won't leave until their friend can follow them into the next life.
