MOONBEAST SUBSPECIES This version of "lycanthropy" originated by curse and can be spread by Moonbeast bite (on a full moon), or by birth. Moonbeasts are influenced by the moon like traditional werewolves. All have a permanent wolf/beast-like appearance, and by night they "revert" becoming primal, savage, bloodthirsty, and destructive. The degree to which they "lose control" depends on the phase of the moon. Physical features such as claws, fangs, and build become more exaggerated and pronounced as the moon phase progresses towards Full. Some Moonbeasts have worked so hard to discipline themselves that they only lose complete control on nights of the full moon. |

Name Derived From:
Lupa the Direwolf, one of BanishedShadow's amazing original characters; It is also the Latin word for "she-wolf".
The Queen's stoic right-hand and fiercely loyal bodyguard.
Woe be to any being that tries to challenge the Queen, or Luna forbid, try to take take her life, because they will answer directly to the White Wolf in the most painful ways imaginable. Not that they can easily get near the Wolf Queen, afterall, Lupa is rarely seen away from Her Majesty's side.

As a woman of very few words, Lupa values action, and it shows. the White Wolf is a master of several known forms of combat, and more often than not accepts other Lycan's challenges for dominance in the Queen's stead. There are no known occurrences where she left a challenger alive. But there are times when this great lycan breaks her stoic character by stubbornly protesting about leaving the Queen's presence should the monarch command her to leave for a Task, but she obeys the command all the same. In her younger days, Lupa was once a Feral Wolf, although not many know this fact. She roamed the wilderness as a savage beast, where all her senses were overpowered by primal instinct: kill or be killed. But when the Wolves faced near extinction, she left the wild to support the Wolf Queen in her campaign to unite all lycans and secure the throne. She has been by the Queen's side ever since.
