The Night of No Return - The Library wrote:
War waged outside the windows of the royal library. Onmund scurried around inside, pushing all of the books into their places on shelves, gathering scrolls into cases and baskets, packing up all his quills and inks and loose papers into boxes and shoving them beneath his desk. Even thought the Loremaster knew it was foolish to worry more about the state of his library than the state of the kingdom outside, Onmund wasn't about to leave the royal library looking like a college student's dorm room.
With the final box of ink tucked into place and the roaring and screaming coming closer, Onmund leapt for his satchel and began to shove the essentials inside of it. A few quills, some small bottles of ink, three blank rolls of paper, his prized Bamboo pen imported directly from Reedcliffe Ascent, and a few days' rations of dried herbs. Onmund had really no intentions of escaping or leaving the library behind, but the tundra was no fighter either, never having fought a day in his life. While the lore written and stored on these shelves meant nearly the world to the Tundra, his life was worth more, so if he had to run he would, and he'd be prepared to do so.
Calmly, with his satchel within arm's reach, Onmund sat at his desk in the library. He would stay for as long as he could, in hopes that whomever was attacking them would ignore his vast collection of knowledge. He closed his eyes and breathed deeply, inhaling the scent of leather, paper, and ink into the deep recesses of his lungs. The unique smell of books and scrolls were already deeply ingrained in the Tundra's memory, but he wanted to savor these moments in the library, because deep in his heart he knew they may be his last moments here.
Then, the door to the library slammed open. Onmund's eyes fluttered open swiftly, staring at the dragons in front of him. A dark, shadowy mirror had a flaming bottle in his maw while war and fire roared behind him. Onmund's breath caught in his throat as the mirror spun, whipping the Molotov towards the Tundra in a swift motion. Onmund managed to dodge the bottle, but the glass shattered onto the shelf behind him, and flames erupted, knocking the tundra forward off his feet as the fire quickly consumed the books and spread throughout the library.
As quickly as they had come, the mirror and his companions left the burning library, leaving Onmund for dead inside of the quickly growing inferno. Onmund looked up weakly from where he was thrown, coughing from the inhalation of smoke, before his vision began to fade.
"....und!...mund!....ONMUND!" A voice shouted.
Onmund woke to Thamadi shaking him gently as another dragon blew gusts of wind around them to fight the flames.
"Thamadi! We have to get out of here!" Telora hissed from somewhere in the burning ruins.
"Prince?" Onmund said. "Prince Thamadi, what are you doing here?!"
"Rescuing you!" Thamadi said back, quickly lifting the tundra onto the his back. "We have to get out of here, before it's too late!"
Onmund hung onto the prince as Thamadi used his tail to knock out a side of the burning library. The prince then hurriedly lunged through the opening, Telora swiftly flitting by his side and jumping after them. Onmund watched in horror as the shrinking figure of the library began to collapse behind them, but he sighed, grateful he was still alive.
