" You must understand.
It takes a special sort of patience to fit the living... "
✁╌┄╌┄╌┄╌┄╌┄╌┄╌┄╌┄╌┄╌┄╌┄╌┄╌┄╌┄╌┄╌┄╌┄╌┄╌┄╌┄╌┄

It's unclear how a place like the Scarred Wasteland produced such a soul as Isotta. Born of a place so sick and unforgiving, she's perhaps the cleanest, kindest, and most charismatic dragon to ever conduct business along the borders. Her unparalleled beauty earns her the attention of countless suitors, ill or other, and her patience with even the worst of her clients brings her fair pay all around.

And yet, one always wonders--Why is it always her clothes that come up? Her belts, her sashes, her dresses, gowns, kimonos, cowls, capes, cloches, clasps, clips, petticoats, collars--how is she less remarkable than them? Her name is mentioned, and all anyone can ever go on about is the clothes! It's all they're drawn back to, it's all they praise, it's all they wear!

It's not unintentional. She feels that approach is better. That beyond her business, they are inclined not to speak too personally about her. That they ignore the hug of their sleeping gowns against them at night, the adjustment of the cloth under steam. How threads will band together, holding fast beneath flame and blade only up until it's all the more convincing to be cut, just so their wearers suspect nothing of the damage. How the fabric breathes.

Isotta was lain as the most frail egg, and as a result, hatched as the most delicate of her clutch. She inherited the best and worst of her parents for this, from her father's smooth, sweet nature to her mother's debilitating illness--which threatened to end her life in as early as a week--

Up to their innate connection to the blood-borne magicks of the Plaguebringer. She has the strongest connection to her goddess out of the whole family, and discovered very early on that channeling that connection, that blood magic, could reinvigorate her sickly body and make her who she felt she was supposed to be, beyond her illness. So she weaves it through the fibers of her clothes to reinvigorate herself, at the expense of her clientele.

One would think she would want the chance at life without that innate, deathly touch--but she admires and adores it, and as an adult, she wholeheartedly embraces it. Even if she embraces it on the inside more than the out so as to maintain a professional work environment. She longs for the day when she can fit her patron deity herself.

For now, however, she is content where she is. With the constant threat of illness and infection to be found in the runaway water from the local dungeons, she finds there can be as much benefit to others with her clothing as to herself. After all, she cannot hope to keep her own health in high spirits with others if those "others" are sick or dying.

Though she's not as far into "town" as the others, she embellishes her underground home accordingly, with hanging draperies and decorative dolls. Floral sachets help keep the place fair, and she's not too far away from a walk to the outside. She especially loves leaving her home to view the sunrises.
