The puppet slammed its body along the ground, repeatedly snapping its wood into splinters as it gained momentum down the path. The moon smiled down upon the land, hungry. Little did the inhabitants know that the sun would be extinguished forever. Day after day passed and still the rabbit did not leave its hole, fearful of the incoming flood. Sometimes a lesson isn't learned, it's repeatedly bashed against your skull until it forces itself to seep into your exposed brain. The painter hummed his quiet and reserved tune, gently dragging the finishing stroke down his canvas, not stopping until it reached the bottom of the ocean. A bee lands upon a flower, pondering the upcoming extinction of everything that starts with the letter x. It then curls up moments before death, relishing the fact that such a thought will never be experienced again. The life drains from its body and it becomes a hollow exoskeleton.
