Dosne

A small hatchling follows after his mother, staring up at the starry sky in wonder.
They pass through twisted trees, long, gnarled shadows falling upon the two Imperials. All was quiet, and still, and small tyke got lost into his thoughts, bounding through the woods without a care. His mother however, cast an uneasy glance around the wood, a sudden feeling of dread shuddering through her.
"Dosne, wait." she calls after her son, but he is already out of sight. She bites her lip and hurries to follow him, worried he might-

Dosne stopped for a moment, glancing around. He couldn't see his mother anymore and gave a soft whimper, quickly turning back to find her.
He would regret doing so later in life, when he wakes up screaming from the nightmares that plagued his sleep.
What greeted him was the sight of a large Imperial; she was definitely older than he, and he just stared, stared at the black ashes and smoke that drifted from her maw, a large skull covering her face. Her clawed talons curled around the staff in her paws the bloodied staff as she stood over the limp form of his mother.

Dosne whimpered.
She turned her gaze, eyes without pupils, almost sparking with lightning a sign of her flight,
he'd later learn and she gave him a long smile, raising a claw to her lips and giving him a quiet Shhhhhh.

He fainted.







When he awoke, he hadn't dared breathe.
She had taken him; she had stolen him from the mother she murdered and the small hatchling knew, he just knew she would eat him up, just like they said Buzzards did. He was scared, terrified, trembling on the nest of furry pelts he had been placed on.
