Meraud and her partner Morgan have dedicated their lives to the study of dragonkind's most important asset: their own history. All dragons know the story of how the First Four shaped their world, and of the constructing and ultimate collapse of the Pillar of the World and how the Eleven eventually went their separate ways; but there is so much more to it than that. So much strife and petty hatred and squabbles, but also so much cooperation, compassion, and empathy. The only way to keep their descendants from repeating the mistakes of their ancestors is ensure that they know the truth of their past rather than ignore it and forget it.

Their children are also keen on keeping the past from the present, and many take to fields such as anthropology, theology, philosophy, sociology, psychology and similar subjects.
