Calypso
Lover
Before she was cursed, Calypso was the most amazing lover that one could have. She could serve all your needs, mentally and physically. She knew when something was wrong and how to fix it. She was envied by various other dragons and wanted by the rest. Although she seemed like the Holy Grail, she just wanted a substantial relationship. Somebody to hold, somebody who wanted her...for her. She loved sharing those special looks, the knowing glances, the gentle touches. She knew sometimes her love was too strong, too wrong. But she knew they were happy and she was happy, so it didn't matter much. One day though, everything changed. Everything went wrong.

Calypso had fallen in love with one who had been claimed. Calypso had loved this new partner with all her heart. The two lovers met at the borders of their flight's territory during the New Moon. Both knew of the consequences. If they were caught, they would never see each other again. Her new found lover was the mate of their clan's renowned Sage. The most powerful known to Sornieth. Their love had progressed until Calypso had bore eggs. Both were overwhelmed with joy! Their hatchlings would prosper! Until her lover's mate had found them on the day of the hatching. Calypso's lover had been clumsy in his excitement. The Sage had followed him to the nest...and to Calypso. The Sage was outraged! The Sage cursed the nest, and her past mate. They were all sent to an early demise. Years, shaved off their lifespan. After this, the Sage had turned to Calypso. "You should have left my lover be! Your torment will not be as quick, so listen to my decree! No matter what you do, this curse will follow you! You will never be loved. You will remain alone, so alike the flighty dove. No matter who you are beloved by, this will never be a lie," the Sage then ripped some of the nearby daisy's and threw them above Calypso," until these daisy petals fall, you will find no love in any living thing. At all!" Calypso watched as the daisy petals seemed to drift towards the ground around her. As soon as they reached the ground they blinked from existence and continued falling from the top. She realized something then, they would never truly 'fall'. The petals would be trapped in a never ending loop. Forever falling. And she would be forever cursed. She would never find love again, nobody would love her, nobody would hold or caress her. She would be alone forever.

One Calypso had awoken to find herself and the Coatl Greenbean alone elsewhere in the Driftwood Drag, so far in fact that they were bordering the Brambled Wood. It was an unsettling moment, even more so when they were found by an odd looking Mirror and Ridgeback duo. The Ridgeback was adorned with several bird and other-creature's bones and feathers, while the other have varying pieces of apparel seemingly thrown on for the sake of it.

Who knows what they were originally planning to do with the two of them before the Mirror happened to smell the Coatl, and then Calypso herself. He quickly arched his neck up at the two of them, as if he just then realised they knew each other, yet the didn't. And then after a short hiss fit at the Ridgeback towering over the two of them, the Mirror had spoken, "Hey.. are you related to that other Coatl? Dark-blue-ish looking kid?"

From then on, the two dragons, coupled with a Wildclaw who was more monstrous than a dragon, the two dragons were trained endlessly for several days. Whether this was intentional or just so happened to occur, the two dragons were thoroughly trained, increasing their battling capabilities tremendously over the short period. But Calypso had experienced something different than Greenbean. After a day or so of training, the group had discovered they were getting stalked by the inhabitants of the Ruins. They were intently watching Calypso, always swarming her when the others turned their back. It wasn't a friendly interest either, whatever they intended to do with her required her being taken away, to a part of the Ruins no dragon would simply enter. Their plans were always thwarted by Calypso's companions, either striking down the things or driving them away. But it persisted until it seemed the whole ruins wished to have Calypso for whatever reason. Her three trainers were already expecting to take her back to either camp or wherever she originated when a horrible wave of air suddenly rushed past the group.

When When they all turned to see what it was now, a Disorientated Spirit was wavering before them, its empty gaze trained on Calypso. They asked no questions, and definitely did not allow Calypso to, for they quickly escaped the Ghostlit Ruins and immediately sent her back to where she came. Only the Deities know what would happen if she went back there, for no matter how much time passes, they all are just spirits in the end. They have already waited an eternity, they can wait another.

It It had been days since Calypso had last existed in the Ghostlit Ruins. Everything had pointed to her leaving soon, and not being returned thanks to all the failed attempts to get her attention. Those monsters of dragons always dragged her away from them at the last moment, not even letting her take glimpse of the one behind everything. The single soul that was left to exist in this world longer than it should of. All because of a mortal mistake it had made in it's living life, so long ago that it can't even remember it's name, what dragon it even was, even what Flight it was bound to. It probably didn't have one anymore, what Deity would want something like it on it's side? Only the Shade would accept something like it, but it always wanted something better than that. Even now, in its shambles of energy and bone, it knew the acts of the Shade. Even in this state, it still had something more than the emptiness the Shade offers. It had the Ruins, a place where it could exist without being attacked by the magic of the Flights around it, and now it's seen something even more. It had seen Calypso, and the energy of a curse long lasting over her.

It had seen her several times during the week of her supposed training with those monsters, the way she had to waste her own energy to keep them alive. It was such a waste of a limited resource. Even if a living dragon believes their magic is unlimited, it simply has the blessing of a Deity that extends it. Only when they perish will they realise just how shallow it really is.
With the creeping wind wavering from within its shattered rib cage, the spirit hoisted itself out of the deep hole in the ruins where it once was left to die and began to crawl across the landscape around it, a dead and dry forest sapped of its own life from the thousands of spirits that haunted the land. But he was no longer in the tender grasp of a world inhabited only by spiritual power, not magical. For every movement he made outside of the Ruins, he was attacked by the still existent magical power flowing out from beneath the broken land. Every little particle of that magic was a searing pain.

Despite this, the Spirit kept on. It kept on traveling through the forest into the deeper outskirts, where the magic was much more prominent. It was like the energy was tearing at the giant white and blue cloud around the Spirit, wanting to attack its very center of being and diminish it to just a lifeless pile of bones and tatters. But the spirit would never allow that to happen, not until he got to see Calypso upfront, not through a broken hole in the Ruin walls.

He had to have been traveling for hours now, the giant cloud of air around him now just a whimpering breeze, barely keeping his soul spirit away from the violent magic deep in the forest. He had been followed by the other spirits of the ruins too. They braved the wilderness just as he was, keeping the dragons and Beastclans preoccupied while their king was on his journey. Within the last few wisps of the neutral magic air the spirit had around himself, he came across a part of the forest that was covered in.. flowers. There were every kind of flower around there, and it was full of the train Calypso had left while she returned to her clan. It even had the sense of the others who were temporarily in the Ruins.

Even as it was evident his barrier was about to wither away, he entered the edge of the clan's border and looked all over for Calypso, not even acknowledging the forms of the other dragons or their shouts of concern, for this giant spirit had somehow made its way so far away in the Ruins all the way to the clan. The spirit kept searching through all the parts of the clan, the hoard of spirits who had followed him managing to push back all the dragons who came to rid their home of the spirit. As the last of the barrier around him faded, and the intense mix of elements passing through the clan grounds began to tear away at his skeleton body and subsequently soul, he had found what he had traveled ages for. He had found Calypso, the only one he had ever looked for in life. As the form of his skeleton was ripped away in a pale blue and white haze and what remained of that cloak wavered lower and lower to the ground, he looked to her. Even as his hoard of spirits decimated, and the trail of fighters soon charged his way, he looked to her. She was the only thing he wanted, and not even death was able to take it from him.
