5916.png 		It's unknown why Simon came when the demon called, or why he did all that it asked of him. Only Simon knows the true nature of that old debt; he's never told anyone else. He certainly could not have told anyone in the Clan of Singing Blood. They have an old mistrust of ice spirals in particular. It was better they did not know the full extent of unholy work Simon was taking part in.

Simon was summoned to help 'break' the curse that had been placed on Gloomy Hollow, but the demon's true intent had been to Shift the curse onto a dragon of his own choosing. He kept this detail hidden from Simon until he was sure the spiral would not refuse. He had Simon nest with the cursed dragon and took from them the children who were not honor-bound to the Clan. Weaver and Snare were used to catch and shape the curse, and seal it in the ice magic of their father. When this was done Gloomy's curse had been apparently broken.

At this time Halina, the dragon who was to be cursed, was only a hatchling, and Simon could not imagine for what reason she was to be cursed. He could not deny the demon, though, due to his debts. The demon had many preparations to make for Halina, but the final step was Simon's. He would have chosen to be cursed himself if it were an option, instead of nesting with the dragon he had watched the demon raise from a hatchling for some ill purpose.

The demon collected Moonjar the moment she hatched and set about finalizing his curse. Simon was released from the demon's service, his debt was now repaid... but he is not sure his mind or soul will ever be free from the burdens of his deeds.
