Albia

Rain poured down onto the guardian as she trudged through the forest. The water ran between her scales, washing the dirty grime away. She had been traveling for weeks now in her restless search for purpose. Some old instinct told her that she was nearing the end of her journey. The purpose she had been longing for was near. Excitement overtook the weariness in her bones and she dashed forward through the undergrowth. Before her was a bolder, bigger than she. Carved in the stone was a dragon's claw. Bright blue geodes had taken residence inside the deep carving. The guardian noticed other stones arranged around the inlet marked in the same way.

Old nest lay in the center of the strange arrangement. Not far off to the left a river curved around one of the boulders. The canopy above was filled with ripe fruits and flowers. Lizards chased bugs through the leaf litter and grass. Old trees surrounded and protected the outside of the grove. Some had even formed into dens. It seemed that the area had been blessed. This had once been a great lair. Albia thanked the Gladekeeper for blessing her with purpose. The Gladekeeper had lead her to this home. It was Aliba’s duty to fill this lair with life and protect it. Dragons of any shape or size would be welcome. All would be welcome.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have miles to go and promises to keep.
