The Mirror dragon that spoke donned a waving banner draped across his wings. His ruddy scales were enveloped in glistening, gold and bronze decor. Anwen gazed at her new hatchlings. They were as soft as a Fox Rat. Her stomach dropped and she protectively flew to intercept the clan's Necromancer.
"They are but Tundra hatchlings. Would they really have the guts for such brave acts? I've been to the Wyrmwound--" "As have I," the Mirror interrupted dryly. "It is as Mother wishes. If you find glee in bucking that, find yourself, your mate, and the twins any place but here. The Cell does not harbor the lackadaisical." The Fae hesitated at his words. She glanced back at her young offspring. The younger of the two merely gawped back, her sister asleep beside her. It was then that another Mirror stepped forth. It was the clan's alpha, at his back were his chittering hunting crew, more than a dozen among them. He wore a red, jeweled crown atop his white head, his dark skin eroded and peeling from Mother's blessings. |

Beside him, his Necromancer paused, his jaw oscillating as he thought. He sheathed his heat pits when he finally spoke, a Mirror dragon's subtle gesture of respect.
"Yes, keen insight, Bonejack. Mother would see that we work most efficiently in these times. The battle with Arcane was more grating than anticipated."
Anwen watched the two discourse concerning her children. She wished more than anything to serve Mother. What was it that the Necromancer and Alpha gleaned that she could not?
