“You’ll be safe here with me.” Stumbling through the Hewn City, it’s far too easy to become lost. Crumbling ruins cross what little paths exist, cutting some off, creating others. You think you’ve seen eyes in the shadows, flashes of light that could be teeth or claws or weapons. Better if they were, for something to confront, to fight - but you’ve been unaccosted for hours now. Hours? Days? It’s difficult to say in the eternal purple dusk, light enough to see by but dark enough that the shadows could hide anything. A gleam of gold, and you’re curious for a moment before your blood runs ice-cold. Nothing has color here, cast in lavender twilight. But this pair of eyes does, a rich golden glow like a summer day, and you’re frozen in their gaze. “Don’t be afraid,” a voice whispers, low, lazy, the hum of fireflies at sunset. “There’s no reason to be.” He steps forward, the darkness drawing back like a curtain as he meets you. He’s right. There’s no reason to be afraid. “I’ve saved you,” he says, and one carelessly graceful hand cradles your cheek. “You want to come with me now, don’t you?” You do. Of course you do. His voice rings with truth, and it brings certainty where you were lost before. It is so, so good to be found. ♥ VAIKAYA (his favorite) Muroc treasures Vaikaya above all others in his collection of companions... even if he sometimes regrets the changes he’s wrought in his childhood friend. ♡ TEKNAT (his father) Teknat is distraught to be estranged from his son, wanting nothing more than for him to return home. Muroc leaves his tear-spattered letters unopened. ⚔ INARA (his mother) Though without her husband’s outpouring of emotion, Inara regrets having failed to raise yet another child well. Muroc occasionally deigns to answer one of her brusque letters, if only so his parents know he’s still alive. ⚔ SOSDOTHUR (his sister) Muroc’s sister was first delighted that her little brother seemed to be following in her footsteps, though now she believes he’s taken a much more boring turn. ♥ ZAAN (his lover) Muroc knows he doesn't deserve his adoration, but he's helpless to resist it regardless. ✒ THIS IS MY BODY AND SOUL HERE The progression of Muroc and Vaikaya's relationship, told through snippets and songs. ♫ GUNS & ROSES In my darkness, you turned on a light / I hate the way you bring me back to life / 'Cause I am haunted / I cannot tell a lie / I like you better when I am dead inside...
