Legend holds that the first Frosted Cake dragon was found in a bag of flour by an unnamed hatchling with no parents in sight. Together, they brought a smile to one another’s face, their joy catching the attention of other dragons until at last, the unnamed hatchling was surrounded by a lair of friends. The hatchling grew into an adult, and it’s job done, the Frosted Cake dragon moved on to spread joy to another lair, but it’s deed was never forgotten. Since that day, these dragons have always been known to turn up during the extremes of life, there to pick others up when things seem impossible, and there to celebrate and cherish the fondest days.

Born from a family of bakers, Cupcake carried on the tradition her whole life. She was as sweet as sugar, and caring above all else. When she found a seemingly injured dog, she instinctively came to it's aid, only to get bitten by the creature; it's mind rotten with the shade's corruption. She then contracted the parasite herself, and despite it's thoughts slipping into her mind now and then, she went on and continued living her life as the talented baker.

Eventually, however, she was slowly transformed thanks to it's influence, turning passive aggressive, cynical, and at times, violent. She lost weight, losing her appetite and gaining a desire for meat, but couldn't eat it thanks to her diet. As she withered away, she grew weary, losing the will to live. However, she fought back, her dreams still alive. The cake had to be made at all costs.

So, she took on an apprentice; someone to learn from her and even take her place someday.

There was one issue, though. It was a gaoler, a being tasked with her containment from the moment it was born. He seemed oblivious to this, though, likely from being separated from his parents at birth, and never truly learning his place in the world. She knew not of his breed's past, but the shade did. Her thoughts grew exceptionally violent towards him, and it terrified her.

He was so young, so innocent. She couldn't bring herself to ever lay a claw on him. Instead, she nurtured him, teaching him everything she knew about not only baking, but life, too. In time, she slowly started getting better, gaining weight again. He was her will to live, and his optimism rubbed off on her, slowly but surely.

To this day they work together, trying to make life just a little sweeter.
