The soul of a dead hatchling, now again inhabiting his old fossilized body. He awakened after a botched attempt at necromancy, and set about wandering Sornieth, looking for answers. Who was he, why was he here? Miraculously, his body began to grow as he aged, as if he were still alive. Though most fled at the sight of him, when he reached the Windswept plateau, he found peace. He thought that he had found all he wanted in the beauty of the waving grasses and the sweet song of the breeze through the bamboo, but he was wrong.

He spotted a dark shape, dancing through the air. At first, it might have been a leaf, but then it grew, until he realized it was a young imperial. She flew as skillfully as a fish swims, and with twice the joy. He was so transfixed with her flight, he forgot to hide himself as she drew closer. Eventually she landed right in front of him. The imperial greeted him enthusiastically and without fear, introducing herself as Flurryheir. So stunned was Azucar at these events, that before he knew it, he was being asked if he was lost, and was being led into a spacious lair.

Not a single member of The Pieces OSky so much flinched at the sight of him. Azucar felt something that he had not felt since his resurrection: the absence of loneliness. Belonging.






Though Azucar gets along well with most of the Pieces OSky, he is wary of Dr. Windling. Whenever she is near she bombards him with questions, most of which are quite intrusive. Once, he even made the mistake of submitting to a “routine health exam” during which he was mercilessly poked, prodded, scanned and sampled. Though he was not hurt, it was very uncomfortable and afterwards he began avoiding her.

Instead, if he is ever hurt, Yonderspirit is often the one to see to him. He is gentler, smiles more, and asks fewer questions. Not only that, but they quickly became good friends, and can often be seen talking together.

Because he is fossilized, he is too heavy to fly. However, Windfall the wind mage put a spell on him so that he can float at will. He can even be towed through the sky by another member of the clan. However, he cannot fly under his own power.

Azucar is known to be very sweet and helpful, and can be seen helping just about everyone. He tends hatchlings with Brittle, patches Galerider’s balloons, and even gardens with Skyheart.
