 Helios hatched on a hot summer day and the first thing he set eyes on wasn't his parents, but the bright summer sun standing in its zenith right above him. He's been fascinated with the sun ever since. He loves the sun, summer, and the Light flight with all his heart. He would do anything for his clan, his flight, and the Lightweaver, though his loyalty to and love for his own flight never makes him intolerant. He just knows where he belongs.

Helios is a scholar and a sage, who knows the secrets of the sun, the moon, the stars, and the seasons. His fascination with the sun has led to him studying it, and every other light in the sky, from a young age. He can often be seen standing on the cliff near the Beacon of the Radiant Eye for hours, staring at the sun with a telescope or his bare eyes (it seems to be a special magic of his own to be able to look straight at the sun without flinching and without his eyes ever being harmed by it), or watching the sparkling path of light on the sea far below.

He always participates with lots of enthusiasm in every Brightshine Jubilee and never fails to support his flight in any way he can. He feels a deep reverence and love for the Lightweaver, whom he considers to be his true parent.
Helios is happily bonded to Soleil, a born Wind dragon who has come to love Light almost as much as he does. She visited the Sunbeam Ruins during a Brightshine Jubilee and, while being a guest of Clan Safe Haven, found herself feeling so much at home there that she decided to stay. Soleil and Helios have one daughter, Sunbeam, who stayed with the clan, and Helios loves her dearly, considering her the child of his heart.
