Dexter is a warrior just like Avelana, and just like her they patrol the boundaries and escort dragons leaving the lair. The two of them bond about shared experiences. They're rough around the edges, often offending people without meaning to. They can be crass and don't often censor themselves, even in front of children. Of course as soon as they realize what they've said, they quickly repeat it in friendlier terms. Such as cussing and then immediately saying "shoot! I meant shoot". They talk loud and laugh louder, a trait some people find obnoxious but one that Hari finds absolutely endearing. They're impulsive, often jumping into things without thinking about the consequences. That's saved them a ton of times so they don't feel too bad when it turns out they were wrong.
