Ortham is acting as the clan's regent; using his talent for organization to help these young dragons survive as they fight, clawing and spitting, merely for the right to exist in this forsaken place. He had originally come to the scarred wasteland as a student studying abroad, with the intention of traveling to each of the other flights' territories in order to gain the experience and insight he would need to become his birth clan's historian.
