Waiting is painful. Forgetting is painful. But not knowing which to do is the worse kind of suffering. ~Paulo Coelho

Android is a robotic dragon who wanders the land, searching for her purpose. "Who am I?" She often asks those around her.
She has no memory of who created her, where she comes from or what she was created for. Her destiny is a mystery that plagues her and forces her to keep putting one clawed foot in front of the other, day after day, and night after night.

LAIRS VISITED:

Starting Clan: PaperPony's Lair

Second Clan: Maevepanda's Quarteshy

The circuited Spiral hovered over the green grass, illuminated by the setting sun. She looked around, seeing a young Spiral boy coming her way.

"Hello there. Are you lost?"

Android looked at the tan dragon in front of her. He looked kind. She considered turning away and leaving him, but reacted before she could even stop herself.

"I'm just looking for myself."

The boy squinted his eyes, looking at her with a questioning look. He tilted his head a little and stepped closer.

"What do you mean? You're right here." He smiled at her, and it comforted her. There was something about his soft smile that made her feel safe and welcome.

"I'm aware of the fact I'm here. But I don't know who I really am." Looking him straight in the eyes, she saw sadness. It disappeared as soon as it came, but she did notice.

"My... my mom, she, she uhm..." He looked away, staring at the grass beneath his feet. Android saw he was having a hard time, but didn't know how to comfort him. So, she did the what he had been doing - she smiled at him.

When he looked up again and saw her smile, he huffed softly and smiled back.

"My mom lost who she is too. She doesn't know anymore. It's just... it's..."

Tears started the fall from his eyes, no matter how hard she saw him try to keep them contained. Her body moved on his own. She wrapped herself around him, hugging him close.

"She'll find herself. I know she will."

While the young boy hugged her back, she looked at the sky, filled with hues of red and orange. Thinking of her words to the boy, she wondered if they were about his mom - or maybe, about herself."

Third Clan: (TorisLaurinaitis)'s Stargale

Along her journey, she traveled to the Shifting Expanse and found herself in front of a large gate. A skydancer seemed to be... waiting for her, almost expecting her arrival. It always seemed that way since Ibis always expected everyone's arrival. "Hello?" Android called out. "Can you help me?"

The skydancer only opened her book and pushed it towards her silently. Android was confused at first, but saw the other names and wrote her name on the next line. Ibis bowed and then left to open the gates to Stargale. The small clan seemed to be bustling with dragons of all kinds. As she walked she got a few curious glances since she wasn't exactly made of scales and flesh like the others.

A small herd of hatchlings, curious little things, came over and looked at her curiously as another shooed them off. "Don't bother the visitors," she chided as she apologized to Android.

Now one particular dragon, Quorum, was particularly interested and inspected her from afar. Eventually the small, invisible fae came up to her curiously with a smile. "Greetings!" she chimed. "Welcome to Stargale, I'm Quorum!" she said. Now the small fae can be quite hyper, especially when it comes to mechanics and robotics. Without waiting for an answer she simply continued on. "My, you're absolutely beautiful, what's your name? Where are you from? Are you entirely made of metal? Do you debug your own errors?"

Android looked at her, very confused. The bombarding of questions made her a little overwhelmed, but she answered each one by one. "My name is Android, and I'm from an Arcane clan in the West. I'm made of metal and my code does debug itself. However... I don't understand... Who am I?"

Quorum seemed to understand a bit. It was becoming increasingly sentient and she was at awe at its intelligence. "I see... That is a hard question, and many dragons ask that. I personally believe you are who you want to be. Do not be restrained by whoever tells you to be, only you can answer the question through self-exploration. Perhaps find what you like, what you don't. What puts you at ease and what stresses you. You are not defined by your program, you seem smart enough to bend the program around you."

The wise words from the fae made her smile a bit. "Thank you, Quorum, for that..." she said softly.

The fae handed her a small lantern. "Do not lose your light, Android. I can see it in your eyes, and let it shine bright. Let no one take it from you. It is rare, you know." She smiled and then hovered a bit. "Now, continue your journey! Be the best you that you can ever be."

Satisfied, Android nodded and returned through the gates. She looked to Ibis in her spire and waved her small lantern at her. Ibis nodded in return, staying there, awaiting the next visitor to pass through.

Gifts received: Small lantern.

Fourth Clan: Darkesty's Nightkeeper Sanctum

She eventually traveled to the Tangled Wood and soon stumbled upon a sparring match between two spirals. The female spiral noticed her and asked "Evening. Are you looking for something?". "I am," Android answered, "I am looking for myself". "You have a difficult task ahead of you. You must look into your heart and follow it. You may be made of metal but that question alone proves you are more than that. Maybe a night in our clan would help you? I am Seirlan and that over there," The spiral gestured to the other spiral,
"is my mate, Undrin. What's your name?". "I am Android".

Android had followed the two spirals into their lair. She noticed the lair seemed to have only been intended for fae dragons, but was then expanded so that bigger dragons could live there comfortably. Glowing shrooms were growing everywhere, coating the place in their shimmer. A small fae flew out of her hiding and spoke, "Who are you and what brings you to our lair?". After Android had answered her questions, the fae spoke again. "Very well. I am Amuless, the leader of this clan. You can stay this night in our lair and socialize with the others, but stay away from the nests."

Android listened and observed the lair's dragons. She learned one of their own was also on a journey. The lair's hatchlings showed interest in her, asking all sorts of questions. Most were ones she had no answer to. Some made her question herself even more. Few were ones she could answer. From them, she learned to question even the most mundane things, as they might
be clues to something bigger, something unusual.

As morning came, she decided to join Seirlan and Undrin for a quick training session. They told her that the best way to learn about yourself was to try something new. After the session, she felt more sure of herself. She felt more hopeful to find who she was. And with that, she took off once again.

Change: Level up!

Fifth Clan: (SpiderFrog15)'s (Clan)

Android continued wandering, until she found herself in a large forest. She looked around, hoping to find another dragon, but saw no one. The trees continued to thicken, until it there was too many for her to even be able to fly through anymore. Finally, after quite a while of walking, she saw a flicker of light in the distance. She walked closer, and realized it was a campfire. A dragon, a coatl with a hood, was sitting next to it.
"Hello?" She asked uncertainly, not knowing who this dragon was, or what he was doing out here. He perked up, and turned to look at Android.
"Hi there!" He waved at her, and she came closer. "We don't usually get that many visitors in the forest! The name’s Lancewing.”
“I’m Android”
“Android huh? I gotta say, that’s an interesting choice of a name.”
“I’m a robot.” Lancewing began to laugh, then stopped.
“Wait are you actually serious?” She nodded. “I’m so sorry!! We don’t have any robots in our clan, so I thought that you must have been a friend of someone else and were messing with me.”
“It’s alright.” Android replied, let down by the fact that there was, yet again, no one like her. Lancewing seemed to realize that he had said something wrong, and started to say something else, then stopped again. Finally, he seemed to decide what it was he wanted to ask her.
“What’s it like?” he asked, “I mean, being a robot?” She looked at him.
“I don’t know if I’m the best person to give you an answer to that”, she said sadly. “I don’t even know who created me. That’s why I’m out on this journey in the first place.” He looked at her, seemingly trying to figure out how to phrase something he wanted to tell her.
“Uh… Do you want to… I mean you can stay with my clan for a bit if you want” He offered, gesturing vaguely into the trees. She smiled.
“I would love to!” Lancewing took the lead, and the two of them traversed deeper into the forest.
A little while later, the two came across a large clearing, with many dragons milling about. They all seemed to be just hanging out, chatting and watching hatchlings run by in amusement. Lancewing glanced over his shoulder.
“Welcome!” he said excitedly, and motioned for her to follow him. He started walking towards the outskirts of the clearing, starting to speed up as he went. Suddenly, he disappeared.
“Lancewing?” She called, looking around for where he could have even gone. Then she looked down, and saw a small opening in the otherwise dense overgrowth. She peeked in, and saw familiars of all shapes and sizes running all over. She spun around, taking in the scene. Lancewing was in the middle of it all, seemingly looking for a certain one. Suddenly, a rush of pink feathers flew by her head, and landed in front of her.
“Is this… a Streak?” She asked Lancewing, looking at the bird. The creature fluffed up and made a chirping noise, proud of the attention.
“Yeah!” Lancewing said, impressed by her knowledge. “Aoki collects way too many familiars, and you seem like you need a friend on your travels. I’m actually surprised that it warmed up to you that fast! When I met that little guy they kept trying to peck my head.” Android and her new companion went to the guest den, and rested.
The next morning, Lancewing came barging into the den.
“I think I have an idea how we can at least learn a bit more about your creator!” He said, almost bursting with excitment.
“What? How?”
“Well, usually the creator would have some sort of style right? Like how artists paintings look different? If we tried to recreate how you were made, maybe we can find some clues!” She considered this for a moment.
“That… makes a strange amount of sense, actually!” She replied, excited to start. The two of them (and the streak, who helped by occasionally finding a tool they needed) toiled on the project for days, and ended up creating three smaller copies of Android. Interestingly, all three had unique personalities. They followed Android and Lancewing like they were their parents, and soon enough, the two had kind of accepted it. They stayed as a family for a while, until finally one day a few of the babies left. One wanted to explore the world, and went to live in a clan in wind territory. Another, transfixed by his mother’s stories, went back to Android’s home clan. Android’s Streak helped make sure she made it there safe, and delivered letters back to her friends in The final hatchling loved spending time with her parents, and stayed at home with them. Lancewing and Android continued to try and solve the mystery of her origins, but they felt like they were no closer. Finally, one day Lancewing had a breakthrough in the middle of the night. He gave her a map of a region and told her he was pretty sure that there would be more clues about whoever created her there. She was super excited, and got ready to leave immediately. She said goodbye to her new friends and family, and once again took off into the sky.

Seventh Clan: LadyChipmunk's Travels Rest Lair

Android traveled quite some time until she found herself gliding over a cloudy fog. Curious, she swooped low and found herself in a hidden desert oasis surrounded by massive cliffs. Though the land beyond the barrier was sere and brown, within the valley, carefully managed farms and fields spread out. Some sections were carefully fenced off with herd animals grazing peacefully. Oddly, none of the animals spooked as Android approached.

Hungry, she moved in, looking to snag a quick lunch, but as she got closer she saw a Tundra woman in one of the fallow parcels. She'd been easy to miss from a distance as her brown and green coloring and naturalistic garb blended well with the small copse of trees.

Android veered and landed before the dragon. "Are these lands yours?"

The Tundra smiled, her eyes crinkling in a way that made her face seem both kind and oddly formidable. "They belong to the lair of which I am part. Are you lost, stranger?"

Android nodded. "I...don't know who I am."

The Tundra chuckled. "No one does, child. Not really."

"I don't understand."

"Do you know what you did yesterday? Do you know what things have happened that you enjoyed?"

"I...do."

"We are all the sum of the lives we live. Constantly changing and evolving. Life is a journey of discovery and exploration. All we can do is walk that path learning who we are and working towards who we want to be, and it is a quest that can never be completed."

Android nodded, but truly she found herself perplexed by the Tundra's words. And not a little unsettled. She needed time to ponder. "I think, maybe, I have more learning to do then."

"As do we all." The Tundra then gestured behind her. "The lair is this way if you wish to join us?"

Android considered, but then shook her head. "No. I have thinking I need to do."

And with that, she took to the air to find less problematic hunting grounds.

Eighth Clan: (clementine2017)'s (Shade-light clan)

Android was flying towards The Tangled Woods. She stoped flying when she reached the Driftwood Drag. She caught some meat there. A male pearlcatcher caught her scent. He invited her to go to his clan. Android acepted and they went to Shade-light clan.

Rula(the leader) was a bit annoyed that another traveler is staying but fortunately she let her stay. the pearlcatcher name was Horme. he toured Android around the camp. Android enjoyed talking with horme. most of the dragons didn't seem to care about the fact that she is a robot. Timber(a hatchling) was fascinated that a robot was as smart as a dragon. She was playing with the kids for a while until Horme invited her to go searching for some food and materials.

they were catching some insects. Horme caught some Jumping Spider and some Shale Skitter. Android caught a Shale Skitter, two Pauper Larvae and several Frostbite Beetle. Horme found an egg without any dragons or clan camp. they decided to bring it back to camp. They showed it t Rula and she said that two dragons will take care of it. Horme and Android developed a good bond that they decided to adopt the egg.

Few days later...

the egg cracked a litle bit and a bit more and then a bit more until a dragon came out of it. Horme Android decided to name him Mudryy. He was quiet and kind. Android wanted to stay until he grew up but she knew she must continue her journey. She said one last goodbye to Horme and flew of into the skies.
