INTRODUCTION
Memento mori (Latin: "remember that you have to die") is the medieval Latin Christian theory and practice of reflection on mortality, especially as a means of considering the vanity of earthly life and the transient nature of all earthly goods and pursuits.

Memento mori has been an important part of ascetic disciplines as a means of perfecting the character by cultivating detachment and other virtues, and by turning the attention towards the immortality of the soul and the afterlife.

LORE - MOROS
It was perhaps the silence that surprised him most. The jarring, deafening silence that overtook everything. His senses were mottled, and he was unsure of where he was, though he knew he was no longer of this world. Echoes of pain and chaos rattled through his body, broken and beaten as he was, Moros tried to will himself to stand but his incorporeal form would not listen.

It was then he realized he was not alone.

Something spoke to him, a demon? A spirit? The undead? Something sent a shiver up his spine, raised his scales in anticipation; something wormed its smoke around his heart in coppery thorned vines that he could taste when he swallowed as his mouth watered. Unsure if he was about to be sick, or if he was suddenly thirsty.

A wisp of a voice tickled his brain, and it asked him a question.

"Do you want to live?"

"Yes," Moros croaked, and his voice echoed in the underground cavern, this place between life and death.

"What price would you pay?"

"Anything." That single word sealed his fate, and the thorns pierced Moros' heart. He screamed in pain, and heard the wisp laugh inside his head.

Moros came back into himself, and his world jarred, shattered, splintered, broke. The pieces of the cavern fell away and he was returned to where he died: He had been brought back to life, but he wasn't alone. He had been given a second chance, made a pact with some unknown creature of death that was now a part of himself. It shared his body, it had desires of its own, and it wanted Moros to pay the price for this new life.

This curse would be traced down his lineage. All Moros' children were destined to die, like any dragon. But they would be given a second chance. It was up to the children if they would accept the bargain.

SHI Description: Eld Reapers hunt and kill evil creatures, mainly Eldritch Beings that escaped the Nothingness. They are very similar to Soul Hunters, but actually kill their assignment. Their interaction with souls is limited since it's not part of their task, so their ability to see, hear, talk or touch them differs per dragon.
