Pharius
World Traveler

DESCRIPTION
Strict and bold, Pharius takes her job as a world traveler very seriously. She allows for a little bit of fun on the trip, but otherwise she's just there to explore and discover new cultures. She's not quite happy with the genes she was born with, so she's also hoping to look around for gene changes while she's travelling.

LAIRS VISITED

Starting clan: FutureMopie's lair

Second Clan Darkesty's Nightkeeper Sanctum:

It was nightfall when Pharius found herself at the Tangled Wood in the lair of another dragon.
She knew she had to rest so she searched for the leader. Eventually she found one of the smallest
-if not the smallest- fae she had ever seen. "Evening. Might I stay here for the night?". The fae lifted her head to better look at the other dragon. "Who might you be?" she asked. "My name is Pharius. I'm traveling the world." She answered. The fae looked at her from head-to-toe until speaking, "I hope you don't plan on staying long. I'm Amuless, the leader around here. Seirlan over there can show you around" she gestured over to a speckled female spiral. The spiral in question moved closer to them and introduced herself before taking Pharius around the lair.

As the night went on, Pharius learned more about Seirlan and some of the other inhabitants of the lair. While she did not stay for long, she became friends with Seirlan while she stayed. It was rare to find a spiral with as much grace in her movements as Seirlan had. Eventually it was time for her to continue

Change: New friend!

Third Clan: Maevepanda's Quarteshy

Walking into the Seedling Library, Pharius looked around. It was still early – the library was completely empty, except for the female Snapper that was making her way over to the Bogsneak. Pharius expected a hard, booming voice, but instead she was met with a soft whisper.

"Hello there early bird. I'm Venetia, the keeper of this gorgeous library. Is there anything in particular you're looking for?"

Pharius took a minute to think. She had already read some scrolls in the clan's archives the other day, so the history of the territory she was currently staying in was already known to her. Normally, that was all she really wanted to know. But she decided to take a chance today.

"Do you have any books or scrolls about genes?"

The Snapper lifted one thick eyebrow. "I think so, let me take a look."

Venetia closed her eyes. She put the veil that was resting on top of her head over her eyes. It looked like there was a soft light right under the veil, but that would be ridiculous. Right?

It only took a few seconds, and Venetia removed the veil to open her eyes. Pharius swore she saw the last remains of a white glimmer flicker away. Before she had the chance to ask anything, Venetia spoke up.

"We have several right over there." She pointed to some shelves a few meters above the ground. "If you need anything else, feel free to let me know." She smiled and turned around to walk away.

Pharius flew over to the shelves and found six books. Two of them piqued her interest – one about transmutation, the other about gene scrolls - and she decided to take them to one of the tables located in the middle of the library.

She wasn't too happy with her own looks, and maybe these would offer some alternatives for her. Pharius opened the book, hoping for some new ideas.

Kiwicide's Starhaven:

Pharius looked over her shoulder at the Scarred Wasteland and the dim glow of whatever disease was brewing within the land there, glad she hadn’t gotten caught up in any of it. “Now to find a place to rest...” She said to herself as she scanned the area. The cliffs in front of her sloped down into a forest of twig-like trees that could hardly be called trees at all. “Maybe down there?” Pharius poked her head over the cliff some more, trying to get a better look of what was down there and was met by a red Mirror who hissed at her.

Pharius jumped back and almost stepped into a pulsing pustule that had spawned farther out from the rest. The Mirror slithered up the slope, not all fazed by the spiny crystals at the cliff’s edge. Pharius watched in fear as the red dragon let out a low, clicking noise that sounded like a primal, alien growl as she licked the air like a snake, searching for her prey. She stepped closer to Pharius and her four eyes locked onto the Bogsneak. A vicious grin bloomed on the Mirror’s face as she made another alien hiss then sprinted towards Pharius at top speed.

Pharius barely had time to move. She ducked away and swung her heavy tail as she turned to run away, but nothing connected and she could hear twisted laughter behind her. Pharius ran as fast as she could but the Mirror was still on her tail. It almost seemed like she was playing some deranged game of tag by letting Pharius just barely slip away from her. But the game seemed like it was going to be over. Up ahead was a cliff and there was nowhere else to go but down from there. The Bogsneak had only seconds to decide what to do and just as she neared the dangerous drop she heard a crash behind her.

Pharius skidded to a stop and saw that the Mirror had been knocked down by another Mirror. The new Mirror was armored and larger. They seemed to have no trouble at all pinning down the red dragon.

“Nyra! Stop it!” Razul called to his mate who hissed and growled beneath him. He knew that she’d soon get free and turned his vibrant blue eyes to the Bogsneak. “Go! Before she gets loose!”

Still terrified, Pharius managed the slightest nod before she took off, getting as far away from the crazed dragon as she could.

Fifth Clan (Rookie's Clan):
From the Starfall Isles, Pharius headed south to the Icefields. She was dead set on figuring out how the plant life managed to survive in this relentless region. The temperature dropped drastically as the terrain became a monotonous mantle of white. Sparse societies of trees grew carefully in the shining snow as stilled streams snaked their way between them. Ponds glittered in the glare of the sun, going nowhere as they lay at the base of glaciers. Pharius flew past fox families, filing their claws on frozen logs. They ceased all movement, scrutinizing Pharius as she came to a standstill just a meter above the ground. The foxes then hunkered down, hurtling over hibernating herbs in their hope to hightail their way back home.

After the foxes left, Pharius took flight towards an evergreen forest. She twisted her way through the treetops, thwarting trembling twigs as they twirled in her tailwind. The zealous zephyr wreaked disorganization as it zipped by, each particle passing in mere zeptoseconds. Control over her course escaped her as quickly as the breeze cruised along. It ebbed at her energy, depleting it until she was exhausted. Pharius dived to the dirt. She tumbled to a stop, tempted to fall asleep where she lay in as a tangled ton. She stared at the sky, stars starting to wake as the sun set.

The orange Bogsneak lay there, pondering the sky as she wallowed in pity. What she wouldn’t give at that moment to be a star. Her past projects presented her with a desire to walk among them. To be a constellation was her strongest crave. Oh, how she desperately wanted to be like Draco.

Uneven footsteps woke her out of her trance. Two Wildclaws males, a yellow one and a purple and green one, broke through a jumbled mass of leaves, coming to a stop when she entered their field of vision. As Pharius’s consciousness dimmed, she vaguely processed the fact that she was being moved. Before the Wildclaws had fully lifted her, she fainted into a deep slumber.

When Pharius woke, it was to the hushed voices of a new clan. Embarrassment seeped through her scales and pooled in her stomach. She hopes they won’t mind the circumstances under which they meet, as first impressions are always the most important. She peeled her eyes open and took in her surroundings.

A small, curiously mixed group of dragons greeted her when they noticed her movement. Conversation slowed to a stop as they took her sight in. She was sure that they were all thinking poor things about her, but that thought was quickly diminished as the yellow Wildclaw from before spoke to her. He, who introduced himself as Logos, spoke to her with the same respect he afforded his fellow clanmates. The rest of the group introduced themselves to her when he finished speaking, all of them from drastically different backgrounds and lifestyles.

Perhaps one of the biggest discoveries Pharius would make would be regarding their decisions to remain a group, for no simple answer would be enough of an explanation. She knew this would take days to understand, but due to the kind words they shared with her she wouldn’t mind any second of it.

Constellations lack these understandings, and for now she was happy being a dragon.

... Pharius arrived at The Refuge at dusk, the clan barren and dark, and muffled laughter could be heard in the distance. She looks around warily, seeing no guards or safety measures. 'Odd,' she thinks as she makes her way inside.

There is a small shack at the edge of the quaint settlement, appearing to be the only dragon built structure. All the others emerge straight out of the ground, gnarled trees and flora working together to make small dwellings in the earth.

The shack is aglow with activity, the sounds of music and excitement faintly emanating from it. Pharius can't help but be taken by it, a place of merriment and joy among all the darkness. She goes closer, reading the hanging sign.

"Tavern," it simply read, and Pharius pushed the rickety door in.

Immediately she's bombarding by the noise, dragons conversing loudly with one another in an olden pub type setting. There's turntable grinding out scratchy jazz in the corner, and an assortment of bottles lining the shelves. A few taps could be seen, each detailed intricately with artwork, vibrant and playful. Behind the bar stood a smiling coatl, hovering on the ground as he zoomed about pouring drinks.

Pharius made way for the bar, a few hatchlings zooming about around her legs. She laughed loudly stepping around the tussling children and settling on a rickety barstool. As soon as the bartender saw her his eyes widened, and he floated over.

"And what's your name sweetheart? I don't get to see many new faces these days." Pharius rolls her eyes discreetly, looking around at the huddled conversations and easy conversation.

"Yes, I can see. I'm Pharius. I'm just passing by, I don't mean to start any trouble." The coatl chuckles, tossing a shaker with his tail and catching it nimbly.

"Yes, the gates wouldn't have let you in if you do. What may I get you." Pharius looked around at the shelves.

"Do you have anything non-alcoholic? I have to mind what I drink unless I'm aiming on passing out on the road." Angela nodded absentmindedly, zooming around. A glass of orange juice is slid in front of Pharius, shaking dangerously.

"Enjoy your stay." Angela says with a wink, turning to converse with a local. A small paw taps Pharius' shoulder.

"Hello? Are you Pharius?" Pharius turns around, seeing a small coatl sitting on a stool. He looked strikingly beautiful, with a loose scarf hanging from his neck. She nods, and the coatl seems ecstatic.

"Oh, wonderful! I'm Nadja, Itzli told me about you earlier. I picked out something for you." Nadja takes out a yellow bandana, waving it.

"May I?" Pharius stutters, giving in eventually. She sat straighter, staring at Nadja carefully tie the Bandana to her neck.

"There, you look great! Glad to meet you Pharius, what brings you to The Refuge?" Pharius makes easy conversation with Nadja for the rest of the night, talking about the clan, Pharius journey and other mindless things like the weather and their favourite foods. Nadja switches to coatl tongue after a while, and is pleasantly surprised to find that Pharius can understand him perfectly.

"Perks of traveling," she says, and Nadja nods.

When Pharius leaves, Nadja walks out with her. He looks around at the fireflies fluttering about wildly.

"I'd love to travel, but I don't think I could ever leave such a place. With my family and friends, it's a peaceful existence. Come back one day and tell me more about your travels! The Refuge shows itself easily to people who seek it." Nadja waved Pharius off, her bandana fluttering gently in the wind.

All dragons involved went on (what presumably was) a long and exciting journey! The bad news is that the only proof of it happening is this picture. What is even happening in it? The world may never know.

She was on a trip around the Flying Lair with its engineer as her guide. She got shown various functions of it, including the trap door, wherein the engineer forgot about the trap door's placement, leading to Pharius tumbling down it and out of the ship. With no time to orient herself, she fell straight onto Fantasia's back.

SaaviBloodfang (Bloodfang Clan):
Pharius woke up with a group of other individuals, all wrapped up in bandadges. She saw the other may have had worse injuries than her, or at least she could move all of her body parts. She turned her head to find her Highnoon Hank and Vest were torn. And, they were also in the hands of somedragon else.

"E... excuse me...?" She said, throat dry.

The Tundra, who Pharius guessed was female, turned toward her. "Oh! Hi! I was waiting for you to awaken! Well, all of us. Tea?"

"'All of us'? As in a clan?"

"Yes. Tea?" She asked again, head tilted. "I have several specialties, including a healing one."

"Ah, yes. That would be wonderful," I told her. Her brown coat and see-through wings gave her a very distinct look.

"Alright. Marclet? Could you go and get Skyway or Starway? One of them has awoken," she said to another in the room.

Pharius turns to see a Pearlcatcher with green Smoke exiting the cave. She turns back to the Tundra, seeing she is almost complete with her tea.

"Do you remember what happened to you?" She asks calmly.

"Well... I was working with a flying lair... and I tumbled onto the back of what I thought was a dragon. After that I don't remember anything." She tried moving, have sparks of pain in places, mostly her stomach.

"It's been a tail's width since you've come to us."

Pharius let her head hit the pillow, hearing a faint jingle. "What was that sound?"

"That is your neck piece. You suffered a large scar on your neck, and the wraps we have couldn't cover it all. So we had to make do."

"Will it heal?"

"The damage, I am sure; however, it will leave a big, mean scar."
