B I O G R A P H Y

______ Lillie, during the reign and her rise of power, found herself conquering and stealing from clans even from other Flights. She would take riches, territory and sometimes even warriors for her army. There was one time, though, when she came upon a clan that had recently attacked a Water clan and taken everything from the conquered clan; treasure, food, eggs. So, when Lillie attacked the clan, she found a newly-born Guardian with eyes as blue as the ocean but as dark as it’s unknown depths. Before Lillie could finish her conquest, she and her army was driven out by the clan, but not before Lillie stole away the hatchling.

______ Deciding that the hatchling was too young to fend for itself, Lillie decided to become her caretaker--no, her mother. The hatchling was named Ruby due to the crimson colored wings that were as dark as blood. Ruby joined Lillie’s other adopted children, Seth and Noir, as their sister. The other two accepted her, but they were both too focused on their rivalry to really care for her.

______ Ruby does help her clan. In the Wandering Contagion, drinking water is scarce and the largest sources of water nearby are in other Flights. As a Water dragon, she is naturally drawn to sources of drinking water without even having to think of it. Even as a child, her abilities had worked quite well, and with time they only got stronger. She helps her clan by finding reliable sources of drinking water in the disease-ridden land of the Plaguebringer. There were even moments of intense dehydration in the clan where Ruby’s abilities saved them all. Lillie has proudly told her youngest adopted child that her ability is unique and that what she does is very important to the clan.

B I O G R A P H Y

______ Unlike her constantly warring brothers, Ruby is carefree and joyful. She is childish and doesn’t understand serious topics such as war, her mother’s subjugation of other clans and the rapidly deteriorating relationship of Seth and Noir. She doesn’t understand why they fight, but she loves them both enough that she would do anything to help them. Not understanding their fight over the right to be the heir to the clan leader, Ruby has not sided with the barbaric Noir or the distinguished Seth. Even if she did understand their fights, she wouldn’t choose between them. She never could. Family is more important to her than a silly war within the ranks of the clan.
