Ex-Drone
And death the drone met, but the empty husk remained, lying down on its side. The chitin wasn't going to decompose anytime soon, and something found that husk to its tastes; thinking it could be a good disguise to dismantle the local Hive from the inside, it decided to use it as a body. As a light started to shine from within the see-through body, the ex-drone's eyes opened for the first time in days. Something changed, and it wasn't only the strange, shining eyes... Now, nobody is sure of what is using that defective drone husk, but since it has a strong connection to the solar luminary and seems to shine like it, the locals call him Ikaros, a name of a certain power. It kind of likes the name, so it decided to keep it. The body itself emits a faint light that intensifies when using magical powers or when distressed, hence the sun-like name. When Ikaros came to the hive, they realised that the body they were using was defective, and thus would be terminated by the hive either way. Dealing a significant amount of damage to the Consciousness before fleeing as the hordes of drones were overhelming, Ikaros hid within the Starwood Strand to plot a new plan. The longer they stayed, the more the local plantlife grew on their husk of a body, which they didn't mind since it provided a natural camouflage. Now, to better infiltrate the hive and kill the Consciousness before it spreads... |

But it knows. That defective drone that has been chased away and left to the wilds didn't really die, did it ? It proved itself to be quite a threat. Thankfully, a new drone was birthed from the womb of the hive. Unlike other drones, this one held much more power than the others... The Consciousness made it its weapon to eliminate that new threat, and it sees everything, spotting every little detail. The ravens are watching. Everywhere it goes, everywhere it rests. The Consciousness' eyes watch. And one night, with a simple blow, it will prevail. And Ikaros is on their guards... If they kill that drone, they might be able to possess it and use its powers against its hive. But if Ikaros perishes, nothing else they know will be able to stop the hive...
