Beginning in a robotics lab, where many different robots were created, Prototype was the first ever test of a fully programmable, functioning Robot Dragon. Prototype was built and programmed by other dragons. The entire reason Prototype was made was so he could be of service to the other dragons, and do mundane tasks for them. But, when he was tested, all of the AI’s scores turned up negative. The Lab deemed him worthless, and decided to throw him to the scrap heap, not thinking about the consequences.

As the robotic dragon was lying in the junkyard, it started processing old code that was never removed from him. Piecing together the broken bits, Prototype somehow managed to make himself a self-aware AI, in which he finally got up and took his first step. As he watched the old recordings that the robotic dragon had taken, he had seen what dragons had programmed him, and then scrapped him. Boy, did this make the dragon angry. He was given up on because he wasn’t ‘functional’.

In a state of anger, Prototype walked around the junkyard for a long while until he finally got out. Searching for the coordinates for this robotics lab, he had stumbled upon a struggling clan who seemed to be captured by some other dragons. This clan was small, and seemed to have no chance against the superior dragons. The robotic Wildclaw contemplated leaving them to fight it out on their own, before realizing who had captured them; the same dragon who scrapped him. In an outburst of rage, Prototype charged headfirst into the scientist dragons, and managed to clamp one of their necks, ultimately breaking it and killing the dragon. The others had ran away, terrified of what could of happened to them.

Prototype had helped the small clan out of the traps that they were captured in, and the few dragons that were in it couldn’t thank him enough. The clan invited the rogue AI into their clan, and the robot had spoke its first words. ‘I would love to.’ The Wildclaw seemed more dragon than robot currently, other than the fact that he was too heavy to fly. So, the clan introduced themselves as the Darkvalley clan, and said that they were just starting out. The robot agreed to join the clan but on one condition; that they would vow to never scrap him. And it was a deal.

Years passed, new members had joined, and the AI had learned how to combat, scavenge, strategize, blacksmith, and much more. Prototype was now one of the smartest and strongest dragons in their clan, second only to their current leader. But soon enough, war broke out between clans, and the battle took a long while to complete. During the war, the Darkvalley clan took many casualties. Two members of the clan had died, and so did their leader. Everyone in the clan knew that Prototype was the only one who could fill in the role of the new leader. And so he took the deal.

Prototype was promoted to leader of the clan after that war. And he has proven himself worthy of that title. Not only is he one of the best leaders Sornieth had ever seen, but he had saved himself from being a piece of scrap metal, and climbed up the ranks. Now he leads battles, invites new members, and makes many weapons and armor pieces for the Darkvalley clan. If you ever want some words of wisdom, here are some; Don’t mess with Prototype or his clan.
