B I O G R A P H Y

Destiny wasn’t really born, rather, she was created. From the shadows she appeared. She didn’t speak until the first new moon since her existence. In the pitch black dark with the lack of any moonlight she had muttered one single word, over and over again. “Soon, Soon, Soon.” This frightened her “parents” and decided that it would be safe to relocate Destiny. They traveled with their silent daughter as she once in a while muttered her ominous word over and over again. “Soon! Soon!” They came across Alcyone and begged him to take her. Of course, Alcyone accepted her to the Rainwater Retreat. While there, Destiny grew in size and power, yet she knew not what this power was. Until one night. “SOON!” Came that ominous word once again. It was the night of a lunar eclipse when the moon turned blood red. Destiny mindlessly wandered out to the clearing above the lair. Under the eerie light, her mind cleared. She heard someone or something speaking to her. “It is your destiny, to see all. Destiny, you will tell of what is yet to come. You know the destiny of all you come across. My daughter, use your gift well.” As the moon returned to its usual state, Destiny regained control over her body. She looked around and headed back down to the lair, unable to sleep. She stared into the empty pit of darkness trying to understand what just happened. She glanced at one of the young hatchlings in the nursery. Instantly she watched as the dragon grew older and stronger, all to be sent to another clan to fight. Then to be sent of once again to serve a deity. Destiny shook her head. Why her, why this so called gift. It seemed like more of a curse. Destiny woke the next morning and found a small fae in front of her. Hello! I’m Quakes! Want to explore with me? Instantly Destiny’s power kicked in. She saw Quakes and her exploring a dark cavern. Quakes then suddenly darted off without her and leaving her alone in the dark forever. “No thanks.” She replied bluntly. Quakes face stiffened into a scowl. “Well, fine then. Nobody wants to be near a creep like you!” Quakes darted off down a tunnel. Destiny turned and stared blankly at the floor. ‘Creep? Is that all she really was?’ She heard the sound of small wings again. “Leave me in peace!” She spun around and noticed a blue fae instead. “Oh, sorry. I though you were someone else.” She glances at the fae and returned her gaze to the wall, not wanting to see any more fates today. “I’m here to apologize on behalf of quakes, she’s... a bit boulder headed at times.” The fae chuckled to herself. “Hello I’m Wavewing, I believe you have met Alcyone.” Destiny nodded. He was the father she never had. “I just hope you feel welcome here. The Rainwater Retreat is for all. Make yourself at home.” And with that she fluttered off. Destiny looked back up. ‘Make myself at home... well I suppose I could try.’

The next lunar eclipse rolled around and once again Destiny climbed up to the clearing, but this time in full control. She closed her eyes and let the light envelop her. “My daughter, you can control this gift you have, if you just learn. If you wish the know the outcome, seek it. If you wish not to see it. Ignore it. You have control. You are strong. Carry on my brave daughter. Destiny, be strong.” Destiny opened her eyes again as the moon cleared back to normal. She went back to her dark corner of her den and curled up and sleep soundly. She could do this, she could be strong and carry on. She woke up the next morning, seeing many dragons gathered outside. She heard the worried whispers of dragons all around. And above their voices, she heard, “It was that creep! I know it! She’s awful enough to do this!! Destiny instantly went outside to defend herself. And what she found was horrific. Written in a sickening red, were the words, ‘Long love the shadows, long live the night.’ Next the the red trail, a small innocent dragon lie on its side, still and unmoving. “Ask her!! I bet she did it!! Look at her claws, I’m sure you’ll find it is her!!” Destiny scowled at Quakes and stood her ground. Instantly Abyss surveyed her. “Nothing,” he calmly reported. “Impossible! I know she did it!” Quakes fluttered her wings irritably and huffed off to the lair. Destiny stood there unable to bring herself to say anything. A pink female Skydancer stared at the small dragon. “We have to move him, we can’t leave him here. To get picked at by scavengers.” Wavewing nodded. “Alcyone, take Berry and Soorak to bury this young one. Destiny, come with me.” Destiny’s heart sank. She followed the clan founder as bravely as she could. “ I didn’t do it I swear, I just went up to the clearing and the cane back to the den. I didn’t touch anything! I would never! That’s not who I am!” All her words poured out like a stream. Wavewing just nodded.
